City Hall Zierikzee

The Cock House

The House De Haan or Haene (also known as the Templars or House)is originally a merchant's house in Zierikzee dating from the first half of the 14th century. The building is the oldest house Zierikzee and is a monument of special cultural value because of age. The house is "the Haene" because there are two cocks on it.From the 18th century, the house known as the Templars House. The name refers to the legend about the destruction of the Templars in 1312, but that would not really happened.

Zuidhaven Port

The Zuidhaven Gate is one of the three gates of the Dutch city Zierikzee.The Zuidhaven Gate stands at the entrance of the old town harbor next to the gate Noordhaven.The gate was built in the 15th century. The brick gatehouse has four corner towers. The dome turret was renewed in 1858. This hanging is the oldest carillon in the Netherlands (1554), from the old town hall.

Sint-Lievens Monster Tower

The Sint-Lievens Monster Tower is 62 meters high tower in Zierikzee in the Dutch province of Zeeland . He is also called "the big tower called in the vernacular of the inhabitants of Zierikzee.The construction of the tower had its beginning in 1454. The likely designer of the tower was the Malinois architect Andrew I. Keldermans . The building was put under the direction of his son, Anthony I. and grandson Rombout II Keldermans . Typical of the style of the family Keldermans the rich ornamentation of the tower.

Nobel Port

The Nobel Gate is one of the three remaining city gates in the Dutch city Zierikzee . The port is located inland and dates from the mid 14th century . The origin of the name is uncertain, it is probably a family name. For the gate was originally a drawbridge. Until 1866 the gates were closed every night.The story goes that Nobel had two sisters, one was crooked. Furthermore, the sisters have quarreled about how many parts the roofs of the towers of the gate should be constructed. It is stated that the roof of the right tower is composed of several components and the judge also pointed slightly crooked.
