HOW TO REACH
There are several highpasses that need to be crossed in order to reach Zanskar. Padum in the Zanskar valley may be joined but the track is not really smooth
BY ROAD - It is noteworthy that the road that links Zanskar with Kargil is open from mid July to early November. Buses. Jeeps, gypsies and taxis are easily available for transport to Zanskar from Kargil. Kargil is approximately 235 km away from Zanskar. During the months of June and July you may trek into Zanskar from Panikhar or Parkachik onwards.
WHERE TO STAY
Ample accommodation is available in Zanskar. You may stay at the Tourists complex or be economical and opt for the camps in the tents. There are few hotels too in Zanskar that provide basic facilities. At the inns of Zanskar dormitory accommodation is possible. Monasteries and village houses are the other stay options in Zanskar

PADUM TO DARCH TRE
From padum to the south the trail leads out towards the Lungnak valley that is take out to Darcha the last campPadum to Darcha Trek of the trek. During this trek you will have many opportunities to see the village farmers, who live in a very tradition and natural way. The farmers in this valley rear yaks and make tasty cheeses and butters. You could visit many of old ages Monasteries, like Phukther, Muney Berden are on the way. Before crossing the Shingu-la Pass (5150m), you will enjoy the amazing standing rock of Gonbo Rangjon (Netural Mahakala) and its remarkable views.

Those who like to do longer treks.

Padaum To Jugtak via Nyalo Kungtse lake and Shun village
Its has same starting point as Padum darcha until Purni village and then this trek turns to the right from the Padaum to Jugtakvillage and follows the Tsarap river via Phukthar Monastery which is over 500 years old and its unique building in the huge rock café will provide you with a very pleasant view. You can enjoy the beautiful views and colorful rocks between Phukthar and Jugthak.
At the Same time you can also visit the Shadey Village which is well known as the valley of traditional Tibetan astrologists for centuries. Hundreds of blue sheeps and Ibex can be seen in the near by the valley.
