How to Reach

By Air

Yokohama does not have its own airport.You can reach Yokohama from Tokyo's two main airports.Some Narita Express trains from Narita Airport go through to Yokohama (1 1/2 hours, ¥4380).Limousine Buses run frequently from Narita to the Yokohama City Air Terminal (YCAT) (2-3 hours, ¥3500).The cheapest access from Narita Airport is to take a Keisei train to Nippori, then change to a JR Keihin-Tohoku Line train for Yokohama (about 2 hours, ¥1540).

By Train

Yokohama is serviced by the Tokaido Shinkansen, a high-speed rail line with a stop at Shin-Yokohama Station. Yokohama Station is also a major station, with two million passengers daily. The Yokohama Municipal Subway provides metro services.

By Bus

Akai Kutsu Bus is a sight seeing bus around Minatomirai, Chinatown and Motomachi.It runs every 20-30 minutes and looks like an old red bus.A ticket costs ¥100, and a 1 day pass costs ¥300.

By Ferries

A "sea bus" operates between JR Yokohama station (east exit), Minato Mirai and Yamashita Park, and is one of the nicest ways to get around on a sunny day.The fare is ¥340-700 depending on the distance.

Yokohama Chinatown

Is located in Yokohama, Japan, which is located just south of Tokyo. Its history is about 150 years long. Today only a few Chinese people still live in Chinatown, but it has a population of about 3,000 to 4,000. Most of the residents are from Guangzhou (Canton) but many come from other regions.Yokohama Chinatown is the largest Chinatown not only in Japan but also in Asia (larger than Chinatowns in both Kobe and Nagasaki) and it is one of the largest in the world. There are over 200 restaurants alone.

Yokohama Marine Tower

Is a 106 metre high (348 ft) lattice tower with an observation deck at a height of 100 metres in Naka Ward, Yokohama, Japan.The light characteristic is marked by a flash every twenty seconds, whereby the light's colour is alternating red and green. Originally, at night, the tower shaft itself was lit green and red according to its markings, but now, after the reopening on May 2009, the lights are white.

Yokohama Stadium

Is a stadium in Naka Ward, Yokohama, Japan. It opened in 1978 and holds 30,000 people.It is primarily used for baseball and is the home field of the Yokohama BayStars. The stadium is unique, because it features dirt around the bases and pitcher's mound, but with dirt colored turf infield and base paths. The entire green portion of the field is now turf. The stadium is one of only three venues in Japan, with an American look, the others are Kobe Sports Park Baseball Stadium in Kobe and Mazda Stadium in Hiroshima.Michael Jackson performed at the stadium, during his Bad World Tour, in five sold out concerts, more than any other artist in Yokohama, for a total audience of 190,000 fans (about 38,000 people per concert), on September 25, 26 and 27, 1987 and October 3-4, 1987.

Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum

is a food amusement park located in the Shin-Yokohama district of Kōhoku-ku, Yokohama, Japan.The museum is devoted to the Japanese ramen noodle soup and features a large recreation of Tokyo in the year Shōwa 33 (1958), the year instant noodles were invented. Within the museum are branches of famous ramen restaurants from Kyūshū to Hokkaidō. The current list includes Ide Shoten, Shinasobaya, Keyaki, Ryushanhai, Hachiya, Fukuchan, and Komurasaki, among others, but new ramen shops are being added.

Sky Walk

An observation platform attached to the Bay Bridge.To get there, take a bus in front of JR Sakuragicho station.If you cannot find the correct bus, ask for help from the Tourist information center located right in front of the station.However, the bus trip takes quite a while and there is nothing more to see than the view of Minato Mirai from afar.
