Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy

The Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy is a basilica Colombian cult Catholic Township Yarumal ( Antioquia ). It is the parish seat of the same name and belongs to the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Diocese of Santa Rosa de Osos. Xaverian Missionaries of Yarumal

Xaverian Missionaries of Yarumal, also known as Missionaries of Yarumal and officially as the Institute of Foreign Missions of Yarumal (IMEY acronym), form a Institute of Apostolic Life in the Catholic Church. Its origin city Yarumal ( Antioquia, Colombia ).On July 3 of 1927 Monsignor Miguel Angel Builes, bishop of the Diocese of Santa Rosa de Osos founded Yarumal Missions Seminar with the aim of training to be sent many missionaries to evangelize in different regions of Colombia and the world. In 1938 they were ordained priests in the first seven missionaries who were sent to evangelize in regions of the Middle Magdalena in Colombia. As he grew the number of missionaries, the seminar was organized as a Missionary Institute under the direction of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples of the Catholic Church. In 1953 the Holy See entrusted the Institute of Foreign Missions of Yarumal - IMEY - the establishment and administration of the Prefecture Apostolic of Mitu, ( Department of Vaupés ), the Apostolic Prefecture of Labateca, the Vicariate Apostolic of Buenaventura and the Vicariate Apostolic of Istmina. Years later, the Apostolic Prefecture of Labateca is incerto the Apostolic Vicariate of Arauca.

Arch Bridge Velez
