By train
Williamstown, Williamstown Beach and North Williamstown stations are in Metlink Zone 1. Metro services from Flinders St take 30 minutes and run every 30 min or so. Direct services only operate at peak hours; at other times, take a Werribee line train to Newport and transfer to the waiting shuttle. The town center is a 10-min stroll from Williamstown station.
By ferry
Williamstown Ferries and Melbourne River Cruises run ferries along the Yarra River from Melbourne's Southbank (piers near Langham Hotel) to Williamstown from 3-10 times a day depending on the season.

The Williamstown Theater Festival is one of the most highly respected regional theater programs in the country - and for good reason. With two stages running simultaneously, the festival puts on a variety of plays each summer. Famous actors are drawn to Williamstown each summer - Gwyneth Paltrow has done numerous plays here and is now on the boar.
Williams College Museum of Art
The Williams College Museum of Art is as good as many art museums in larger cities. It has a changing array of exhibits that often includes contemporary artists. The museum does not charge admission making it more than affordable for anyone. It's a great place for the art novice to get exposure to art as well as the experienced art.
