Lenin Square

the central area of the Volzhsky Volgograd region.Located on the main avenue, in the place where the street begins Engels. Development of the area was completed in 1981.Lenin Square is bordered by blocks of number 36, 39, 42. Venue city festivals, events and concerts.From the square in the direction of the high bank above the river Akhtuba leads boulevard with fountains at the end of which is the largest Orthodox church to the city and the Municipal Art Gallery, located in a former village school Bezrodnov, at which place there was a city.

Fountain Street

Located in the old part of town.It was built and put into effect first in the city fountain.This rest area with flower beds and rotundas was a favorite place for first builders.A popular place for walking. The street starts at the Lenin Prospect and Palace Square, on the other side of which is the entrance to a recreation park "hydro." Volgograd Museum of Evolutionary Ecology and Archaeology

was founded in September 1998. by order of the Director and the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute in order to "ensure the educational process, students of history and international relations and the department of ecology and nature."Currently, the museum exhibit space occupying 100 square meters, three halls, which shows more than 2 thousand unique exhibits from all parts of the Volgograd region.The basis of the exhibits are paleontological, geological, archaeological collections, models, replicas, models, murals, sculptures and other works created by the head of the museum Ph.D. AA Yarkov. Naturally, the funds are subsequently replenished geologic materials and practices of complex missions conducted by museum staff, as well as "Volzhsky floating university" and archaeological detachment VGI Volgograd "Gulistan."The museum offers tours, delegates of international conferences held at the Institute, representatives of public organizations in the city. Volga Hydroelectric Station

is the largest hydroelectric station in Europe and is the last of the Volga-Kama Cascade of dams, before the Volga River flows into the Caspian Sea.Today, it is operated by the electricity company RusHydro.Built as part of the massive post-war industrialization project - the so-called Great building sites of communism, it was authorised by Joseph Stalin signing the Council of Ministers of the USSR order 3555 on 6 August 1950.The plan called for building a station north of the city of Stalingrad (modern Volgograd) with a minimum storage capacity of 1.7 million KWh.Ten thousand youths from the Komsomol league flocked from the whole Union. For the building a whole city of Volzhsky was formed on the left bank of the river to provide housing for the families.Machinery was sent from all corners of the country - Moscow, Tashkent, Chelyabinsk and Kharkov, forestry from Karelia.Newest electric equipment came from Zaporozhye and Sverdlovsk, whilst the turbines and generators were built in Leningrad.In total more than 1,500 individual plants and dozens of research institutes sent their equipment and specialists.
