By Air

The city has been served up to 2008 from a small airport, first military and then opened to civilian traffic.The 'airport' Tommaso Dal Molin "and is located near the city, 5 km from the city center, the area that was earmarked for the construction of a new U.S. military base at Camp Ederle well.The initiative has divided the town, which has created committees, collected signatures and a permanent garrison.In this regard, the Government has appointed Mr Paul Costa as a special commissioner for the enlargement of the settlement of government the U.S. military airport.On the future of a civil airport itself have been expressed several concerns.The airport has been cleared from navigation charts and the track is being demolished to build the military base.

By Train

Vicenza railway station, opened in 1846, forms part of the Milan–Venice railway, and is also a junction of two branch lines, to Schio and Treviso, respectively.Vicenza is located along the railway Milan - Venice and is therefore well served and easily reachable by train, at least from northern Italy. Vicenza Railway Station is the twenty-third Italian resort of number of passengers. By Bus

Archaeological Museum of Nature

which opened in 1991, is headquartered in the cloisters of the former convent adjacent to the church of Santa Corona in the city center.It contains numerous fossils and artifacts found in the area of the Province of Vicenza, where the remains of settlements of Paleolithic and the Lombards, as well as of the Roman era.Is part of the municipal museum, which also includes the nearby civic art gallery of Palazzo Chiericati and the Museum of the Risorgimento and the Resistance to Monte Berico.

Chiericati Palace

is a building renaissance site to Vicenza in Piazza Matteotti, at the side of the end of Corso Palladio.Designed in 1550 as a mansion by the architect Andrea Palladio and built since 1551 , was completed only at the end of the seventeenth century.The historical site of the museum house (from 1855 ), now houses the Art Gallery Civic, which includes collections of prints, drawings, coins, statuary, medieval and modern.The building is listed as a World Heritage Site of truth along with other Palladian architecture of the city and the Palladian villas of the Veneto.

Galleries of Leoni Montanari Palace

is a baroque building site in Vicenza, dating back to 1678.Houses inside a major museum (known as the Galleries of Leoni Montanari Palace) in which they are collected masterpieces of painting, Venetian of the eighteenth century and a collection of ancient icons Russian.The building was born from the need of the family Leoni Montanari to promote themselves socially within the nobility of Vicenza.The family had in fact earned during the second half of the seventeenth century a strong position in the production and trade in textiles and construction of the building served as a witness to the ambitions of social emancipation.The building was erected where the Leoni Montanari already had their own stable, welcoming rooms inside the house for the spinning of silk.This decision had an impact on the style of the facade and interior, which is then detached from the Renaissance classicism of Andrea Palladio.

Barbaran Palazzo Da Porto

is a building built in Vicenza between 1570 and 1575 by the architect Andrea Palladio.It is currently the seat of the Museum of Palladio International Centre for the Study of Architecture by Andrea Palladio (CISA).The sumptuous residence for the noble Vicenza Barbarano Montano is the only large building in the city that Palladio was able to realize in full.As evidence of the cultural interests of the client, in his History of Vicenza 1591, Marzari Jacob Montano Barbarano recalls how "of literature and excellent musician" in the Inventory of 1592 included several flutes, which confirm the existence of the palace intense music.

Eretenio Theatre

was the largest theater in Vicenza, before its destruction, which occurred on 21 April 1944, during World War II, due to a bombing plane Anglo-American.The theater was not rebuilt.Initially called the New Theatre, was founded by Alvise Trissino, Jerome Joseph Velo, Fifth Francis, Jerome Muttoni and Guardinello Bissari in the need to transfer the Theater Square in a bigger site.The building was also motivated more by the sudden destruction of the Teatro delle Grazie, then the main theater "fashionable" in Vicenza, due to a fire on the night of 24 September 1783 had completely devoured the building.Plans for the construction of the new theater were entrusted to the Venetian Antonio Mauri, already known for the construction of other theaters.The facade was built and designed by Ottavio Bertotti Scamozzi.

Festambiente
