Christ of the Noas

The Christ of the Noas is located in the Cerro de las Noas , the northern city of Torreon , Coahuila , Mexico , is a sculpture by artist Vladimir Alvarado, who wanted to immortalize in his gesture of Christ protector.The giant statue is 21.80 meters high from its base, and is built with 580 tons of reinforced concrete, is the most representative symbol not only of Torreon , but throughout the Laguna region . Conceived in 1873 by priest Jose Rodriguez Tenorio, Christ is the third largest in Latin America, exceeded by the Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the Cristo de la Concordia in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The largest statue of Jesus Christ created the world is the Cristo-Rei in Portugal (with 113 meters high).

The Historic Center

The city is no exception to these characteristics in regards to its center. Bosque Venustiano Carranza

Main lung of the city, located at the confluence of Avenida Juarez and Cuauhtemoc. The Forest is the place held a lot of cultural, civic and sporting events. It has an auditorium, multi-sport courts, open spaces with trees, sports clubs and rides.

Founders Park

Is an ecological park dedicated to all those who participated in the founding, growth and development of the City of Torreon, Coahuila. Gate of Torreon
