The Great New Zealand Muster is a famous New Zealand event, in which sheep from the surrounding area run into Te Kuiti. Sheep-shearing competitions and general fun are to be had.

You are now approaching the Te Kuiti Shearing Statue. largest sheep shearer at 7 meters high and Te Kuiti is the sheep shearing capital of the world after all. In 2006 the town hosted the largest sheep show the world had ever seen with more than 2000 sheep.
