By train

Stavoren station is the terminus of the railroad from Leeuwarden , Leeuwarden and from a train runs 1x per hour.
The Frisian Steam Train Company (FSM) had plans since 2010 tourist steam trains to run between Sneek and Stavoren. Probably not until 2012, the trains ride.

By Cars

Stavoren is not a highway or a provincial road . However it is close to the N359 from Leeuwarden through Bolsward to the A6 at Lemmer runs.

By water

The Ferry Enkhuizen  Stavoren founded in 1886 and now sails the MS Bep Glasius . Stavoren is on the Hanseatic Cycle , a cycle inspired by the ancient Hanseatic League . The route begins at Zaltbommel and is partly along Lubeck , Nijmegen , Arnhem and the Frisian cities Stavoren, Hindeloopen and Bolsward . The route is also along Frankfurt an der Oder , Berlin and eventually enter through Sittard back to Zaltbommel . The route is over 3000 km long. For the entire route are GPS tracks available.

City Hall Stavoren

The Town Hall Stavoren is a former town hall in Stavoren built around 1880 .At the municipal reorganization of 1984 the congregation raised Staveren and merged with the municipality Nijefurd . It lost its function Stavoren City Hall. In the town hall is now a hotel. The building is an official wedding site of the municipality Nijefurd.The building has two doors on the left door which gave access to the mayor's residence and the right door gave access to the town hall, with mayor and council chamber room

Lighthouse Stavoren

Lighthouse Stavoren is a cast iron lighthouse or light stand on the IJsselmeer in the port of Staveren . The two port piers are two corresponding port lights , one green and one red. These buildings are in 1885 and are built since 1999 under the monument . The tower has a height of 15.7 meters.In 2001 the lighthouse was restored, the tower was sandblasted and painted.

JL Hoogland Pumping Station

The JL Hoogland is an electric pumping station pumping station in Stavoren which was completed in 1966 . The building with an arched roof of the architect P. de Vries .In the hall are four screw pumps . The pumping station releases the water from the Frisian bosom of the IJsselmeer . The discharge capacity of the pumping station JL Highland is 6,000 m 3 per minute and a half times greater than that of the Woudagemaal. On 10 May 1967 , the pumping station was officially opened.
