Church of St. Nicholas

The church was built at a later period 1859-1860, when Christians in Turkey have received under the reforms known religious freedoms and samokovtsi obtain decree.They believed that this place was a church before the town fell under Turkish rule.After being completed iconostasis and the icons, the temple was dedicated officially on October 26, 1861, Dimitri from Archimandrite Hrisant Doychinov urban and priests to connect forever patriotism of Samokov to the fight against the Greek clergy.In those days the city was expelled Greek bishop and church service began to be kept only in Bulgarian.

Bayrakli Mosque

is a Muslim shrine in the Bulgarian town of Samokov.Masjid e monument of national importance.The mosque was built in mid 19th century, probably by Bulgarian masters.The mosque has a large prayer room measuring 14 to 14.8 meters.Four free columns in the center held ramshackle drum crowned with a wooden dome.Predmolitvenoto premise is flimsy arcade entrance to the second floor of the closed women's section.The minaret is a brick spiral decoration.Inside and outside the mosque is richly decorated with ornaments of painters from Samokov School.

Big Fountain

is located in Samokov and was built in 1660, the commissioned by the Sultan's kitchen Emina Mehmed Effendi.Built in Moorish style of stone blocks.Represents a square building with fountains from which flowed water on all four sides.In decoration and there are two mysterious elements - stone bird house and a "Zeng" which according to legend was the ring of King Marko.

Historical Museum of Samokov

was founded in 1930 with the idea of Samokov artists Naum Hadjimladenov, Vassil Zahariev, Christo-Yonchev Kriskarets, Paul Frantsaliyski, Genev Fame and George Belstoinev.Initially the museum is housed in the library building "Father Paisiy" but later it became independent in solid building behind it.Officially the institution is approved by the Ministry of Education in 1936.In 1937 has pioneered the ethnographic collection of the Museum and the next year was the first exhibition under the guidance of Prof. Hristo Vakarelski.Currently the museum has a collection of about 30,000 museum exhibits divided into ethnographic, archaeological, artistic and iconographic, photographic and documentary collections.

Rila National Park

is the largest of three national parks in the territory of Bulgaria.These areas have been declared a national park on 24 February 1992, the The park covers an area spanning more than 81,000 hectares in the central and highest part of Mount Rila.It is designed to protect the several distinct ecosystems and a distinct historical and cultural sites of national importance.From the park rises one of the longest and deepest rivers in the Balkans-Maritza.The park is located four Bulgarian reserves - Parangalitsa, Central Rila Reserve, Ibar and Skakavitsa.Rila National Park is one of the largest protected areas in Europe.Both reserve, Terrain and Marichini lakes are part of a global network of biosphere reserves under the program of UNESCO Man and Biosphere.

Famous Alino Kale

Kale is famous Alino Bulgarian fortress which is located near the famous Alino Monastery "Spas".The castle is located about 7 km from the village Alino, Municipality Samokov.The remains of the fortress wall in places reach a height of 2.5 meters.In the past walls were fenced yard about 3 acres.The fortress was studied by archaeologists.It is that famous Alino fortress was built during 12th - 13th century and continued to exist until the mid 17th century.
