Bambuco Pageant and Folkloric Festival
is the largest and most important celebration in Huila Department and one of the most important celebrations in southern Colombia. It is celebrated annually in the city of Neiva during the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul and attracts a considerable number of Colombian and foreign tourists. The festival was declared National Cultural heritage by the Congress of Colombia in 2006.The Festivity is formed by three events, the Folkloric Festival, the Bambuco Pageant and the International Folklore Exposition. The Festival celebrates Bambuco music.Since the 18th century, locals celebrated obedience to the Spanish monarch in the months of June and July, as well as the Feast of Saint Peter and Saint John. At the time, Saint John's Feast was a rural festivity while Saint Peter's was celebrated in the cities.In 1960, the festivities were officialized and the Festival Folclórico y Reinado Nacional del Bambuco were established.
Guillermo Plazas Alcid Stadium
is a multi-purpose stadium in Neiva, Colombia.It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 22,000 people.It was built in 1980. Atletico Huila plays its home matches at this stadium.
Coliseo Alvaro Sanchez Silva
is an indoor sporting arena located in Neiva, Huila Department, Colombia.It is the most important sporting facility in Huila after the Estadio Guillermo Plazas Alcid.It has been recognized as having one of the best basketball courts in Colombia.It is used mainly for basketball events. The capacity of the arena is 8000 people.It has hosted several national and international events such as the South American Basketball Championship 2010.It is also the venue for the "Eleccion y Coronacion Reina Nacional del Bambuco" during the Festival Folclórico y Reinado Nacional del Bambuco.
Museo de Arte del Tolima
is an art museum located in Ibague, capital of the Tolima Department of Colombia.It features pieces of Colombian art and contemporary Latin American art.The museum was founded by the artists Dario Ortiz, Julio Cesar Cuitiva, Margareth Bonilla Morales and others and opened its doors to the public in December 2003.It offers a significant permanent collection as well as educational program and cultural programs to its visitors.
