Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (Marinilla)

The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption of Marinilla is a temple Colombian cult Catholic dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the title of the Assumption, is located on the north side of the park's main town of Marinilla ( Antioquia ). The building has suffered throughout its history several renovations, the last of which was conducted by French architect Charles Carré, who completely redesigned the facade and reduced from five to three ships inside the temple.By 1650 in the Valley of San Jose there was a chapel built in adobe, the first of which has references at the site near the creek Maroons. By the year 1662 there was in that valley a thatched church, and from 1664 was rebuilt by Fray Miguel de Castro in order to reassure the Christian community at that time attenuated.

Chapel of Jesus of Nazareth (Marinilla)

The Chapel of Jesus of Nazareth is a temple Colombian cult Catholic dedicated to Jesus of Nazareth, is located on the side of the Square of the Martyrs, just one block from the main park of the town of Marinilla ( Antioquia ). The building was built between 1752 and 1760, is rectangular and its interior is divided into three naves, separated by wooden pillars. It has an old wooden altarpiece made in colonial, painted scarlet and gold, and has paintings of the eighteenth century. The temple belongs to the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Diocese of Sonson-Rionegro, who in 1968 declared the chapel as a museum of religious art, in addition, the Colombian state declares a National Monument by Decree No. 086, the same year and was restored by the Antioquia Railroad Foundation, for which the temple could reopen its doors in December 2002.
