Cathedral of Magdeburg

is the oldest Gothic cathedral in Germany. It is the proto-cathedral of the former Prince-Archbishopric of Magdeburg.Today it's the principal church of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany. One of its steeples is 99.25 m (325 ft 7 in) tall, and the other is 100.98 m (331 ft 4 in), making it one of the tallest cathedrals in eastern Germany. The cathedral is likewise the landmark of Magdeburg, the capital city of the Bundesland of Saxony-Anhalt, and is also home to the grave of Emperor Otto I the Great. The first church built in 937 at the location of the current cathedral was an abbey called St. Maurice, dedicated to Saint Maurice. The current cathedral was constructed over the period of 300 years starting from 1209, and the completion of the steeples took place only in 1520. Despite being repeatedly looted, the Cathedral of Magdeburg is rich in art, ranging from antiques to modern art.

millennium tower

is, at 60 metres (200 ft), the second highest wooden tower in the world, after the radio tower in Gliwice, Poland, which stands at 118 m (387 ft). It was established on the occasion of the Bundesgartenschau 1999 in the Magdeburger Elbauenpark in Magdeburg, Germany. The tower houses an exhibition on the development of sciences, which is supported by many descriptive experiments with which the visitor can interact. One notable example is a powerful telescope through which visitors can observe the distant clock-face on the Magdeburger cathedral.

Bordelandhalle

is an indoor sporting arena located in Magdeburg, Germany. The capacity of the arena is 8,000 people. It is currently home to the SC Magdeburg handball team.

Altes Theater

In the twenties, the house was built as a riding hall. Then, a use was as a cinema, before it was converted in 1994 into a full theater. Since March 2006 the house through the old theater space at Jerichower gGmbH is operated as a multi-functional convention center. The old theater is located adjacent to Elbauenpark (site of the Federal Garden Show in 1999) and the exhibition grounds of the state capital Magdeburg.In-house catering is possible. Two fully equipped bars are available. Mobile bar systems for the auditorium are in the house. Also, a catering services are guaranteed in the outdoor area.

Green house Building

is a building where plants are grown. These structures range in size from small sheds to very large buildings.A miniature greenhouse is known as a cold frame.Greenhouses can be divided into glass greenhouses and plastic greenhouses. Plastics mostly used are PEfilm and multiwall sheet in PC or PMMA.Commercial glass greenhouses are often high tech production facilities for vegetables or flowers. The glass greenhouses are filled with equipment like screening installations, heating, cooling, lighting and may be automatically controlled by a computer.Greenhouses protect crops from too much heat or cold, shield plants from dust storms and blizzards, and help to keep out pests. Light and temperature control allows greenhouses to turn inarable land into arable land, thereby improving food production in marginal environments.

Magdeburg Water Bridge

is a navigable aqueduct in Germany, opened in October 2003.It connects the Elbe-Havel Canal to the Mittellandkanal, crossing over the Elbe River. It is notable for being the longest navigable aqueduct in the world, with a total length of 918 metres (3,012 ft).The Elbe-Havel and Mittelland canals had previously met near Magdeburg but on opposite sides of the Elbe, which was at a significantly lower elevation than the two canals. Ships moving between the two had to make a 12-kilometre (7.5 mi) detour, descending from the Mittelland Canal through the Rothensee boat lift into the Elbe, then sailing downstream on the river, before ascending up to the Elbe-Havel Canal through Niegripp lock. Low water levels in the Elbe often prevented fully laden canal barges from making this crossing, requiring time-consuming off-loading of cargo.
