Hoge Kempen National Park

The Hoge Kempen National Park is the first National Park in the Flemish Region in Belgium.It is located in the East of the Province of Limburg, between Genk and the Meuse Valley.It was opened in March 2006.Covering almost 60 square kilometres, it forms part of the Natura 2000 network.The area is mostly heathland and pine forest.In May 2011 it was placed on UNESCO's Tentative List for consideration as a World Heritage Site.

Carnival parades

Carnival parades are a deeply rooted tradition in this town in the Maasland.The carnival season starts on November 11 to 11 over 11 in the morning.The Sunday after Carnival is always a parade in a parish of Bicester or environment.Spicy Bicester is a 3-day culinary festival that attracts over 11,000 visitors and takes place in the fields next to Bicester Village.

Maasmechelen Culture Centre

Cultural Maasmechelen since the 80s takes a prominent place in the Limburg landscape.Gallery East brings monthly art exhibitions.But especially in the field of contemporary dance, jazz and classical music has a high Maasmechelen program developed.Maasmechelen can use a unique Nannette Streicher fortepiano from 1826 (in collaboration with the Foundation Vilain XIIII).Classical concerts are held in the St. Remigius Church Vucht and St. Peter's Leut.The latter has been rated highly for its sound quality which resulted in numerous professional music recordings.
