Lenzburg Castle

The castle above the town of Lenzburg Lenzburg in the Swiss canton of Aargau is one of the oldest and most important hilltop castles in Switzerland.The facility is located on the 504 meter high mountain castle a nearly circular tertiary sandstone, which rises about a hundred feet above the level but only has a diameter of about 250 meters.The oldest parts date from the 11th Century when the Counts of Lenzburg could build its headquarters.After that the castle was owned by the Staufer, Kyburg and Habsburg served for over 350 years as the seat of the Bernese bailiffs and then passed into private ownership.1956 sold the widow of the polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth, the castle in the canton of Aargau.Since 1987, the castle houses the Historical Museum of the Canton of Aargau (since 2007 Museum of Aargau).

Museum Burghalde

Founded in 1928, Association for the Natural and Cultural Heritage of Lenzburg and environment was a subset of the Lake Valley Historical Association.She took the museum project at hand.There followed a petition to the City Council.Motivation was not a petty local patriotic ambition but the profound conviction that today more in the time of the fragmentation of spiritual values and the uprooting of native forces a gathering place for traditional folk and country material than ever need doing.The new castle was built 1793/94 stockpile as "Production".The villa in classical style is linked by a pergola with a heap of the old castle. Roman theater in Lenzburg

is a festival of jugglers, street performers and other artists in the old town of Lenzburg in Switzerland since 1992 which takes place every August.2007, it was for the 14th Time this year. The festivals take part in more than 10,000 visitors.The artist previously known to occur at different times on stage in Old Town.These registered artists will be judged by a jury and to a ranking, which is endowed with cash prizes awarded.2007 was the first time for the two evening programs requires an entry. The remaining performances are free - if the hat money aside which you throw out the artist in her hat.
