Trestle Mountain

is slightly rocky hill situated about 2 km south of the border city of Kladno.At the top stands lookout from 1930.At the southwestern foot of the mountain Trestle, near the village of Velka Dobra, is found Kladno Airport, for example, used to fly gliders gliders.By car it is possible to get to the top of the road II/118 connecting Kladno and Beroun - just below the top of this road turns to asphalt road, which after less than 200 meters ending at the complex of buildings with a view.The area is a natural park and there is a restaurant open all year round.Tourists can use the route with the blue label from the Kladno railway station.Kozova Mountain is a tourist place Trademark No. 345th.

is situated less than 25 km from the capital city of Prague, offering various forms of entertainment for all lovers of water, regardless of their age.You can find swimming pool and whirlpool, water slides and chutes, or a nice playground for the very smallest. St. Vitus Cathedral

is as a Roman Catholic cathedral in Prague and the seat of the Archbishop of Prague.The full name of the cathedral is St. Vitus, St. Wenceslas and St. Adalbert Cathedral.Located within Prague Castle and containing the tombs of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors, this cathedral is an excellent example of Gothic architecture and is the biggest and most important church in the country.The cathedral is under the ownership of the Czech government as part of the Prague Castle complex.The current cathedral is the third of a series of religious buildings at the site, all dedicated to St. Vitus.The first church was an early romanesque rotunda founded by Wenceslaus I, Duke of Bohemia in 925.This patron saint was chosen because Wenceslaus had acquired a holy relic the arm of St. Vitus from Emperor Henry I.It is also possible that Wenceslaus, wanting to convert his subjects to Christianity more easily, chose a saint whose name sounds very much like the name of Slavic solar deity Svantevit.Two religious populations, the increasing Christian and decreasing pagan community, lived simultaneously in Prague castle at least until the 11th century.

St. Florian chapel

is situated on foot-passanger zone, in T. G. Masaryk street, mounting moderately from main square (Mayor Paul Square) in the town of Kladno, at 200 metres distance, on right side of restored chapel.The chapel is located on a place of hospital for poor servants of 1610.It was constructed in 1751 (when the base stone was put in) and 1872 (when it was solemny finished  and consacrated).The building was effected under leading of Břevnov Benectine Order Monastery.It is a marvellous pattern of Baroque building.Moreover, this chapel is the last church building of famous architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer.

Sladecek Museum of Local History

being established by the Central Bohemia Regional Authority, offers a tour round historical expositions and a simulated adit in the Kladno Castle, and an excursion to the Budec site of ancient Premyslides settlement near Zakolany.The permanent exhibitions document the transformation of the town Kladno and its environs from the Prehistoric ages to the Baroque time when the Kladno demesne was purchased by the Brevnov Benedictines.Temporary exhibitions also occur to take place in the museum (land history, everyday history, practices, natural science as well as photography, for example).The Museum also ensures excursions to the early medieval hill fort - Budec near Zakolany - with the St. Peter and Paul's rotunda which is the oldest well-preserved building in the Czech Republic, and which, according to legends, relates to education of the later Saint Vaclav (Wenceslas).To czech schoolchildren, the Budec hill fort offers a modified tour and worksheets which are prepared for different age categories.The Mayrau open air museum near Vinařice is built in the area of one of the oldest in use coalmines in Kladno and is now affiliated to our museum: it is organised as a mine that workers just have left, thus it is either possible to take a look inside the locker room, the pithead's shower room, the identity plate control room, the cantine or inside the shaft and the still equipped and functioning engine room.
