Lakshmi Ashram/ Sarta Ashram
This ashram was founded in the year 1964 by Catherine Hillman who was a disciple of Mahatma Gandhi. Here, the orphaned poor girls and women are taught the various skills like growing vegetables, cooking, caring for the animals and cleaning. Lakshmi Ashram is located in a quiet place up a hill which presents a very quiet atmosphere to the whole ashram.
Sumitranandan Pant Gallery
One of the most important attractions of Kausani is the Sumitranandan Pant gallery that was built in memory of the famous Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant. This gallery contains hundreds of English and Hindi books. To mark the birth anniversary of the poet, every year, a poetry symposium is organized here.
Kausani Tea Estate
The hill resort of Kausani is also very famous for the several tea gardens and the various pear orchards that are located here. There is nothing like visiting the tea factory and seeing how tea is actually manufactured in the estate. This tea is also exported to Australia, Germany, Korea and the US.
