By Air

Grabtsevo Airport (IATA: KLF, ICAO: UUBC) is an airport in Kaluga Oblast, Russia, located 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) northeast of Kaluga.It accommodates small airliners.The airport is closed since 2009.Restricted area UU-R56 is located just southwest of the airfield over part of Kaluga town.In 2008, the airport became the property of Volkswagen Rus OOO, the Russian subsidiary of the German automotive industry conglomerate and holding company Volkswagen Group.Volkswagen Air Services charter flights to Braunschweig Airport near Wolfsburg, and Ruzyne Airport, Prague, are planned to start in the next 2 years.

By Train

Tsiolkovsky Museum of the History of Cosmonautics

is the first museum in the world dedicated to the history of space exploration.It was opened on 3 October 1967 in Kaluga and is named after Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, a school master and rocket science pioneer who lived most of his life in this city. The driving force behind the creation of the museum was Sergei Korolyov, chief designer of RKK Energiya.The building was designed by Boris Barkhin, Evgeny Kireev, Nataliya Orlova, Valentin Strogy and Kirill Fomin and the cornerstone was laid by Yuri Gagarin on 13 June 1961.The museum has over 100,000 visitors per year and has 127 employees, of whom 43 are curators.The exposition of the museum consists of two parts.The first part is dedicated to the ideas and research of Tsiolkovsky and shows a model of the rocket designed by Tsiolkovsky as well as copies of his scientific work.The second part contains mock-ups of space craft like Sputnik 1 and samples of moon dust. Just outside the museum is a rocket park, which contains amongst others a R-7 rocket.In the outskirts of Kaluga is the wooden house in which Tsiolkovsky lived.In 1936, one year after his death this house was turned into a memorial house museum and is now part of the museum organization.The museum also incorporates a scientific effort to study the life and works of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky.The Annual Tsiolkovsky Readings and Conference is organized by the museum.

Kaluga planetarium

Kaluga planetarium works in the building of Museum of History of Cosmonautics Tsiolkovsky.His technical equipment makes it possible to conduct a special astronomical and popular science lectures and other events for a wide range of visitors.

Kaluga Drama Theatre

is a drama theatre in the city of Kaluga.The first theater company in Kaluga was founded in 1777.In 1929 the theater was named after A. Lunacharsky.It is significant that the theater was established in Kaluga simultaneously with the establishment of the governorship which included the Kaluga, Tula and Ryazan organized the cultural center just inaugurated governor of Kaluga Lieutenant-General Mikhail Krechetnikov.In 1820 the building burned.The new theater was built in 1821 burned down in 1836.From 1836 to 1842 years, performances were staged at the Governor's summer residence in suburban garden.In the early 40s by the Governor of Kaluga appoint N. House Museum of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky
