By Air

closest airport to Ixelles is Liege Airport (IATA: LGG, ICAO: EBLG), also called Liege-Bierset, is an important cargo airport in Belgium.It was at the end of 2009 the 8th biggest cargo airport in Europe.Liege airport is the biggest cargo airport in Belgium and the third biggest for passengers after Brussels Airport and Brussels South Charleroi Airport.The airport is located in Grace-Hollogne, Liege Province, north-west of the city of Liege, in the east of Belgium.It is mainly used for freight operation but also serves more than 23 destinations for passengers (mainly charters).

By Train

A train (€5.20) runs every 15 mins from the airport (Level -1) to Brussels three main stations taking 15-25 minutes with most trains continuing to other parts of Belgium.

By Bus

Wiertz Museum

is a museum dedicated to the oeuvre of an artist, the painter, sculptor and writer Antoine Wiertz (1806-1865).The Wiertz Museum in Vautier Street in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles was in a studio apartment at the expense of the state built for the painter Antoine Wiertz, who in return would leave seven monumental paintings.Shortly after the death of the artist's studio became a museum.Henry or Hendrik Conscience lived in the house from 1868 until his death in 1883.The Wiertz Museum is part of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels.

Museum Camille Lemonnier

Tenbosch is now a property of the Brussels-Capital Region.Although relatively small (2 hectares, or about 2.5 acres), it is an exquisitely landscaped park popular among local residents. It is surrounded by a wall and offers an unexpected oasis of calm in a busy district.Tenbosch is within a short walking distance of Avenue Louise / Louizalaan, the Ixelles Ponds, the Abbey of La Cambre / Ter Kameren, and the Bois de la Cambre / Ter Kamerenbos.

Flagey square

Several fairs are organized in Ixelles, including the Spring Fair on the Flagey square, which takes place between the fourth and sixth Sunday after Easter and the Boondael Fair at the end of July.Official celebrations for the reopening of Flagey Square took place in July 2008.Events held included fireworks, concerts, guided visits and film screenings.However, at the time of the official opening and still as of 2010, the subterranean parking which was built below the square was not opened. The risk of flooding as well as other structural problems forced authorities to keep the facility closed.Place Flagey is famous for the art deco building occupying its entire southern side, the former Maison de la Radio renamed to "Flagey" in 2002 and now hosting a cultural center.The building on the opposite side of the square houses the first supermarket ever opened in Belgium on 18 December 1957 a Delhaize.

St. Adrian Church

the concrete church 1939 - 41 in the General Dossin de Saint George avenue, the architect of the new Borg and R. Maquestiaux of Romanesque and Gothic inspiration, was finished with decorative brick, the church served mainly the hamlet Boondael that in the decade before and after the war was thoroughly urbanized, and replaced while the much smaller Saint Adrian's Chapel. The most remarkable treasures are from the chapel: a completely preserved polychrome Antwerp altarpiece with the martyrdom of St. Christopher (circa 1520 ), with painted shutters on the basis of the persons represented around 1603 - 04 are datable.Two in a Gothic Revival list twinned fragments of an altarpiece Brussels (1500) from the circle of wood carver dynasty Borreman with scenes from the martyrdom of St. Adrian.

St. Boniface Church

this church is the first fully Gothic Revival style was designed construction began from 1847 under the leadership of architect Joseph Dumont.Charge of the construction site was taken over by architect De Corte and the church was finally in 1893 when the first completed in sandstone -built spire was replaced by a slate occupied tower.

Chapel of Boondael

Saint Adrian's Chapel stands on the spot where in 1463 a chapel was built where the relics of Saint Adrian were transferred.The chapel was entrusted to the gun makers, which contributed to its enrichment, increased in 1658 and rebuilt in 1842.She does now serves as a multipurpose hall with cultural destination.
