How to Reach

By air

Hammerfest Airport is the bird, ca. 30 minutes walk from Hammerfest. From Hammerfest Wideroe flights to Tromso , Vadso , Kirkenes , Alta , Honningsvag , Hasvik and most airports in Finnmark. In addition, flying Norwegian helicopter to various offshore installations.

By land

Hammerfest is connected to the south with Highway 94.svg Highway 94 to Skaidi and The trunk road E6.svg European highway 6
There are a couple of buses a day to Alta, from where you can get a cheap flight to Oslo with SAS Braathens or Norwegian.

By water

Hammerfest is the port of call for the Hurtigruten . Hurtigruten arrives Hammerfest every day at 11:30 (southbound) and 05.30 . It is the express boat from Hammerfest to Hasvik, Akkarfjord , Karhamn , LOTR , Long Beach , and oksfjord and Loppa sites. Friday and Sunday is the relation with Rolvsoy, Ingoy , Havoysund and Masoya . The route to Alta was closed in June 2010.

Hammerfest Church

Hammerfest Church is a church built in a fan plan from 1961 in Hammerfest municipality, Finnmark county.The structure is concrete and has 525 seats.Access to the site, which is a well known tourist destination is via Rv94 .

The Museum of Reconstruction

Reconstruction Museum is a museum with national responsibility for their area in the center of Hammerfest . The museum's collections document the consequences of the forced evacuation of the population of Finnmark and North Troms in 1944 and the subsequent reconstruction of the region.

Birds

Birds is a district of Hammerfest municipality in Norway and is one of the 34 sites that make up the World memory Struve Geodetic Arc . It was here that Friedrich Georg Wilhelm von Struve surveys were completed in 1852.Meridian Column was erected in 1854 to commemorate the largest international measurement of the Earth's shape and size. The surveying was initiated by Wilhelm Struve who received the support of King Oscar I of Norway, Sweden and Alexander I of Russia

Varden in the hall

Varden in the hall Varden were first built by the city's youth in 1882-83. It was demolished by occupation forces who used the stones for fortification during World War II. In 1983-84 the Varden rebuilt. It's also built a viewing platform with 180 degree views of the city and the surrounding islands.

Arctic Culture Centre

Arctic Culture Centre (AKS), the town council's new culture. The house was opened in autumn 2008 and the official opening took place on 17 January 2009.
