Gorcums Museum

The Gorcums Museum is the city museum of the city Gorinchem . It has a collection on the history of the city and a collection of modern art . There are several works by the seventeenth-century painters from Gorinchem to see. There are regular temporary exhibitions.The museum is located since 1995 on the Grand Place, the former town hall of Gorinchem.

Large Tower

The Great Tower is a tower in the historic town of Gorinchem . The tower is 67 m high. The current tower was around 1450 are built on the site again before a (lower) tower stood. This old tower would have collapsed in 1361 after a fire. The Great Tower was during construction due to subsidence and today stands over five feet from the vertical.The church building was demolished in 1844 and replaced by new ones: in 1851 the new church was consecrated.

Never Perfect

Never Perfect is a flour mill in the fortified Gorinchem . The windmill originated in 1718 , and was built after its predecessor  in 1717 was destroyed by storm. The mill was originally built as a sailing ground but was in 1764 and raised four meters converted into a mill . The mill was renewed in 1889 after a devastating fire. The current name comes from that period, the mill was restored to parts of the mill "Never Perfect".The owner is the municipality of Gorinchem since 1956, and is managed by the Friends of the Mills Gorinchem.

The Dalem Gate

The Dalem Gate in Gorinchem , the only remaining gate of the original four who had fortified after the improvement of the old wall, which was completed in 1609. The other three were the pulpit Gate, the Arkel Gate and the Water Gate. The remaining gates are demolished to make room for the growing traffic. The Dalem Gate dates from 1597 and has a tower with a clock. Today, there is only a footpath through the gate towards the river Merwede . Those who follow the path gets a good view of the gate near the Dalem the city walls built windmill De Hoop .

Chapel Tower

The Chapel Tower in Gorinchem has an attached tower circa 1522 was built as an addition to the then Holy Ghost Chapel. In 1835 , the chapel replaced by a meat market , the chapel tower remained standing.The building, over the centuries by various religious currents used. The last time was in 1987 when the building tower and the Evangelical Free Church was put into use.In 2000 there was a restoration site.

Roundabout

The Rotunda in Gorinchem , the former executive reception building of the company Gorcumse De Vries Robbe & Co.. The architect is Ben Merkelbach of the Office & Karsten Merkelbach. The style is functionalist , an exponent of the Modern Movement . The house is built on the bank of the Linge and was on 11 July 1941 opening. On 21 September 1996-some time after the bankruptcy - the building was sailed round to the other shore there again and used as a residence and business office. The six concrete lampposts were replaced. Afterwards also purchased locally at the place and rebuilt on 21 September 2006 the complex was re-commissioned.
