Genoese fortress

is a Historical Museum in Feodosia, Crimea, Ukraine.Feodosia Museum of Antiquities was opened on May 13 1811, thanks to the efforts of city manager SM Bronevskoho.Feodosia Museum of Antiquities (STARS) is one of the oldest museum institutions in Europe.However, the first building of the museum rather represented repository of antiquities than the actual museum.Gradually the collection grew through new acquisitions and gifts institution rezkltatam archaeological excavations and research, etc.Museum located in the Crimean mosque in the city center, but at the end of the 1860's power Tauride province donated the building Feodosia Lutheran community.In 1871, the museum collection was moved to specially constructed at the expense mistyanyna famous painter Ivan Aivazovsky room.
