* From Guelph, take Elmira Road north. This becomes Wellington County Road 86 north of the city and later Waterloo Regional Road 86. This becomes Church Street in Elmira.
* From Kitchener-Waterloo, take the Conestoga Parkway north, which becomes Waterloo Regional Road 85 north of the city. Regional Road 85 takes a left turn just south of Elmira; continue straight (on Arthur Street, Regional Road 21) to reach the town centre.
The Elmira Maple Syrup Festival
held annually in late March or early April, attracts 60,000 visitors and is world's largest one-day maple syrup festival.
Arnot Art Museum
The Arnot Art Museum is housed in an 1833 Greek Revival mansion. The collections on display include 17th, 18th and 19th century Dutch, Flemish, French and German paintings. Asian, Egyptian, Pre-Columbian, and Native American collections are also part of the museum collection. Other changing exhibits at the Arnot Art Museum include American art and bronze sculptures.
Elmira Park
Elmira Park, along the course of a pretty river, is particularly lovely in the spring and in the autumn, when it attracts many visitors. It has a campsite, picnic areas, footpaths, and an information center, and there is canoeing on the river.
