By Air

The Eindhoven Airport is the closest airport, located approximately 8 kilometres from the town centre. The airport serves as a military air base and a civilian commercial airport.Eindhoven Airport is the second busiest in the Netherlands (after Schiphol).There are flights with Air France to London City. Ryanair serves London Stansted airport, Dublin, Rome, Milan, Pisa, Marseille, Glasgow, Madrid, Valencia, Stockholm, Malta and Barcelona.In the summer season, Reykjavík is served with 2 weekly flights operated by Iceland Express.Transavia services Alicante, Antalya, Bodrum, Corfu, Dalaman, Faro, Gran Canaria, Innsbruck, Malaga, Majorca, Rhodos and Salzburg, although not all destinations during the whole year.

By Train

Eindhoven's central railway station is served by both intercity and local services while the smaller station, Eindhoven Beukenlaan is only served by local trains.Up until World War II, a train service connected Amsterdam to Liege via Eindhoven and Valkenswaard but the service was discontinued and the line broken up.Recently talks have resumed to have a service to Neerpelt, Belgium via Weert.

By Bus

The public transport of Eindhoven consists of almost 25 city bus lines, which also serve neighbouring cities like Veldhoven, Geldrop and Nuenen.Two of these buslines (401 and 402) are high quality public transport and the buses on these lines are so-called Phileas vehicles, a combination of tram and bus.The Phileas does not use the magnetic guidance anymore for some years due to the regional urban transport authority (SRE).Apart from the city lines there are some 30 regional and rush-hour lines.

By Road

The A2 / E25 motorway from Amsterdam to Luxemburg passes Eindhoven to the west and south of the city. The A2 connects to the highway A58 to Tilburg and Breda just north of the city. Just south of Eindhoven, the A2 connects to the A67 / E34 between Antwerp and Duisburg. In 2006, the A50 was completed connecting Eindhoven to Nijmegen and Zwolle.

Historic Open air museum of Eindhoven

is an archaeological open air museum in Eindhoven, the Netherlands focusing on the Iron Age and Middle Ages of the province of Noord-Brabant.The museum is situated in the Genneper Parken park area in the southern side of the city.It focuses on the daily lives and routines of people in the time periods mentioned through demonstrations and recreations of buildings, practices and routines.For example there are demonstrations of cooking on open fire of games played in the Middle Ages and groups of school children are allowed to spend the night in the stables.The museum has several distinct target audiences.Primary among these are school children who comprise most of the visitors on weekdays.In the weekends and during holiday season the museum focuses on regular tourists.The museum features a lot of living history exhibits as well as semi-historical reenactments. During holiday seasons extra activities are staged for children.The museum also arranges historically themed corporate and family outings outside of opening hours. Some 60.000 people visited the museum in 2005.Luc Eekhout became director of the museum in September 2010.The museum was founded in 1982 by a group of teachers from the local teachers academy led by Anneke Boonstra; it was then known as the "prehistoric village".The first ten years were spent slowly and painstakingly building an Iron Age village with help of many volunteers and local unemployed people.In 1995 the museum drew national and international attention with the life experiment. Officially called "For 2 Moons" it involved a small group (including the director Anneke Boonstra) withdrawing from civilization for two months to live life as it was in the Iron Age.Towards the end of the 1990s the museum received European subsidies, allowing it to double in size and add a whole new theme on the new grounds: the Middle Ages.

Look-in museum

is an originally themed "micro museum" in the Dutch city of Eindhoven. It is located in the washhouse of the former linen factory Van den Briel & Verster on the Dommelstraat.The original factory was shut down in 1936, after which the washhouse was abandoned for a time. It was then converted into a bicycle parking area for the city police, then into youth center Effenaar and cultural center Cultureel Centrum 2B. It was also in use as private housing at that time.The ground floor of the building has been in use as the Inkijkmuseum since March 21, 2004. The idea of the "look-in" museum is to host small exhibits which are viewed by the public from outside the building, by looking in through the windows. Such a micro-exhibit might consists of works of art, musical instruments, cultural anthropological artifacts or objects linked to a historical event.The museum underwent a short renovation in 2008, reopening on October 17.

Fiesta del Sol

The event reflects the determination of Eindhoven to profile itself as a design and technology area and the design environment to expand and strengthen. Park Theater Eindhoven
