By train

Direct intercity services connect Deventer to Amsterdam as well as Schiphol Airport. In both cases, the journey will take about 90 minutes.
Zwolle also has a driect connection, as do Arnhem and Enschede. The international train between Amsterdam and Hannover/Berlin also makes a stop at Deventer.

By road

Historical Museum Deventer

The Historical Museum Deventer is established in the monumental building of the Venture from 1528 to the Brink in the town of Deventer .
The museum's permanent collection includes:
 archaeological finds from the prehistory to the Middle Ages and later
 paintings, including the Four Evangelists by Hendrick ter Brugghen (1588-1629)
 silverware including a cup of Antoni Magnus
 silk dress of the woman director of a city from the 18th century
 industrial history, including the gingerbread , the first Dutch Bicycle Factory Burgers , and printers from Deventer Deventer carpet.

Large or Lebuinus Church

The Great or Lebuïnus Church is a Gothic hall church in Deventer . In the Middle Ages it was the main church of the city and one of the main churches in the diocese of Utrecht . Lebuïnus the Church did during the brief existence of the diocese of Deventer (1559-1580) as a cathedral . The church is among the top 100 of the Dutch UNESCO monuments . The church is owned by the Protestant Church, while the tower owned by the municipality of Deventer.The English missionary Lebuïnus put in 768 the IJssel with the intention of the Saxons to convert . He built on a river dune near a settlement on a natural harbor of the first wooden church. In the ninth and tenth centuries Deventer was associated with the conquests of the Vikings along the major rivers for a long time the residence of the bishop of Utrecht. In later centuries the church maintained an important status within the diocese .

St Mary's Church

St. Mary's Church, also known as Our Lady, is a former church in Deventer . The church was from the late 13th century, built as part of the Virgin Mary and Basilica Lebuïnus . She was in contrast to the collegiate church of St. Lebuïnus as a parish church for the bourgeoisie. Early 16th century , the parish church split from the collegiate church, beside the large church dedicated to St. Mary Lebuïnus a new building. The aisles of both churches were more or less to lie in one line. For a time there was a passage between the two churches. On the side of the Great Homes maiden cemetery were built for widowers and spinsters.

Hall of Deventer

The Town Hall is located on the Great Deventer cemetery opposite the church Lebuïnus in Deventer . It is among the top 100 of the Dutch UNESCO monuments .The town hall has various architectural styles. The facade is classical and in the late 17th century, designed by James Roman . The side wall of the house in the past because Polstraat from 1662 and designed by the Amsterdam architect Philip Vingboons .It has a special interior with stucco, chimneys, guild boards , paneling and a mayor's seat. In the old council chamber hangs the picture of Gerard ter Borch II, "The magistrates of Deventer" in 1667. The building still houses the municipal administration of Deventer council chambers and public room. The wedding hall is located in the adjacent farmhouse.

Rijsterborgherpark

Rijsterborgherpark It is a city park located between the station Deventer and the town of Deventer . In Deventer popularly called the park "The old park."
It was after 1874 Rijsterborgherpark built on part of the fortifications of Deventer. Around 1630, these reinforcements outside the walls of the city built.
