By Air

Dallas is served by two commercial airports: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (known as DFW International) and Dallas Love Field. In addition, Dallas Executive Airport (formerly Redbird Airport), is a general aviation airport located within the city limits, and Addison Airport is another general aviation airport located just outside the city limits in the suburb of Addison. Another general aviation airport, Denton Municipal Airport is located 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Dallas in Denton. Two more general aviation airports are located in the outer suburb of McKinney, and on the west side of the Metroplex, two general aviation airports are located in Fort Worth.

By Train & Bus

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is the Dallas area public transportation authority, providing buses, rail, and HOV lanes.
DART began operating the first light rail system in the Southwest United States in 1996 and continues to expand its coverage. Currently, two light rail lines are in service. The Red Line goes through Oak Cliff, downtown, Uptown, north Dallas, Richardson and Plano. The Blue Line goes through south Dallas, downtown, Uptown, north Dallas, and Garland. The red and blue lines are conjoined in between 8th & Corinth Station in Oak Cliff and Mockingbird Station in north Dallas. The two lines service Cityplace Station, the only subway station in the Southwest.

Reunion Tower

Dallas's great landmark is the Reunion Tower in Reunion Park (viewing platform). In the same complex is the restored Union Station (400 S Houston St.), now housing the tourist information office. The First Republic Bank Plaza, 70 storeys high, is another landmark visible from afar.

The Sixth Floor Museum

The presumed murderer of President Kennedy, Lee Harvey Oswald, is believed to have fired the fatal shots from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository at the intersection of Houston and Elm Streets. Here now is the Kennedy museum known as the Sixth Floor, devoted to John F. Kennedy's life, work and death.

"John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation" is the permanent historical exhibit that features the life, death, and legacy of the 35th U.S. president. Such as his 1960 presidential campaign, and his influence on current events. The exhibit features documentary films, historic footage, hundreds of photographs and artifacts.

Zoological Garden

The Dallas Zoo is located only a few miles south of downtown, off of Interstate 35 East. The zoo is divided into two sections: Zoo North and Wilds of Africa. One of the many attractions Zoo North has an endangered tiger habitat and a section where children can pet and brush the animals. The Wilds of Africa features six major African habitats. Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for seniors, $5 for children 3-11, and children under 3 are free of charge.

White Rock Lake

White Rock Lake is a reservoir located in east Dallas, Texas (United States). The lake was formed by damming White Rock Creek, which today widens into the lake before continuing south out of the spillway and emptying into the Trinity River. The lake covers 1,254 acres (5.1 km²) in the east Dallas community.
