Central Railroad Museum, Cookeville is such a small place that it's hard to imagine anything being 'off the beaten path' in Cookeville, but the train museum probably qualifies. I was there for a couple of years before I took the time to see the museum when it was open. On a few of my walks, I wandered into town and looked at it from the outside, but I finally made time to see the whole thing.
