Christchurch Tramway

A unique way to view the heart of Christchurch City, in the South Island of New Zealand.

Ride through the city centre in our delightful restored vintage trams, while your tram driver gives an informative commentary. You can leave the tram at any one of the 11 stops, rejoining it later.

Tickets last for two consecutive days, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore Cathedral Square or the Arts Centre, Art Gallery and Canterbury Museum, picnic in the Botanic Gardens or in Victoria Square, where you can watch the Edwardian Punts floating down the Avon River. Visit the Tram Station at Cathedral Junction in New Regent Street, a restored Art Deco pedestrian mall. Stop in for souvenirs and take a stroll around the shops and cafes.

For a truly magical night out, you can dine aboard our unique Restaurant Tram while it follows the 2.5 km inner-city track. Special occasion tram chartersare also available.

So jump aboard and enjoy your ride – the entire trip takes about 25 minutes, but with so many things to see and do on the way, it could take all day!

Black Cat Cruises

Black Cat Cruises helps create some of the most memorable experiences to be had on the water anywhere on New Zealand’s Canterbury coastline. If you are looking for a Christchurch tour and you’ve always wanted to swim with dolphins, get an insider’s view of marine wildlife or charter an unforgettable trip with friends, you are in the right place. Black Cat has been cruising the waters of Banks Peninsula for more than 25 years and is a must see Christchurch attraction. We know all there is to know about the harbours of Lyttelton and Akaroa – their volcanic origins and their marine inhabitants.

Canterbury Museum

Canterbury Museum, in Christchurch’s Cultural Precinct, is housed in a beautiful stone building that was first opened in 1870.The Museum is world renowned for its natural and human history collections and a frequently changing programme of exhibitions and events complements the permanent displays.
Of particular interest are the outstanding Māori exhibits, a Victorian Christchurch Street, an extensive Antarctic collection and interactive fun for the children in Discovery.Don’t miss Fred & Myrtle’s Paua Shell House at Canterbury Museum for the story of an iconic kiwi couple and their paua shell lounge.

Akaroa

A scenic one hour drive from Christchurch, Akaroa is a quaint little fishing town situated on the southern side of Bank Peninsula and is a must see for anyone looking for a few days rest and relaxation. The town has a distinct French flavour to it. Many street names are of French origin because of its French Whaling history.

Akaroa is quiet, relaxed and perfect for anyone wishing to unwind from a hectic day in the city. For a little more adventure, try the Akaroa Harbour Cruises which take you to see a Seal colony along with the opportunity to swim with Hectors dolphins. French Farm Winery on the western side of the harbour is also worth a visit.

Avon River

Experience life the way it should be – relaxed, tranquil and thoroughly enjoyable!

Sink back into the velvet cushions of your boat as the Edwardian punter gently glides you down the Avon River, through the beautiful historic inner city of Christchurch.

We offer 30 minute guided punt tours through your choice of two locations - City or Park.

From our Park landing site, sit back and let your troubles melt away as you pass the trailing willows and leafy banks of the stunning Christchurch Botanic Gardens.
Our City landing site takes you on a peaceful journey through the central city, gliding beneath weeping willows and alongside historic buildings.
