By road

The terminal transports, was opened in 1977. The Basilica of Our Lady of Chiquinquira

The Basilica of Our Lady of Chiquinquira is a basilica under the Catholic church. It has a sandstone façade, whose reconstruction after the earthquake of 1785, was designed and supervised by Fray Domingo de Petres, Capuchin who built several religious buildings in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century.The building is 80 m long and 36 m wide with an area of 2,880 m². The nave is 10.50 m wide and 18 meters high, stands on 12 columns that are the basis of 5 vaults.The interior of the basilica shines because of the white pillars with gold trim. It has a dome decorated with inlaid blue and the altar contains the original painting depicting the Virgin of Chiquinquira. This picture was painted by Alonso de Narvaez of Andalusia, to the year 1560. The cloisters on the north side of the basilica were restored after an earthquake. The scene of the miracle would have happened in what is now called the Church Renewal, Julio Flórez in the park in the city.

The Palace of Culture Romulo Rozo

The Palace of Culture Romulo Rozo, declared a national monument in the year 2000 by the Ministry of Education, works in the old station of the railway in Chiquinquira. The service station was the work of architect Joseph Martens, begun in 1926 and inaugurated in 1928. This building consists of a single body topped by a roof manzarda unique French style of the eighteenth century and three great doors of the same size has a canopy of iron that highlights the main entrance on the side. Since mid 1975, the disappearance of the railway, the station fell into disuse Chiquinquira and abandoned. Was restored for the visit of Pope John Paul II in 1986. Parque Jose David Guari

Parque Julio Florez
