Rodna Mountains National Park

Rodna Mountains National Park is located in the center of Rodna Mountains.Rodna Mountains National Park is designated International Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO Committee "Man and Biosphere". The importance of this park is due to the geology and geomorphology of mountains, and the presence of many species of flora and fauna, endemic and relict glacial.It was organized in 1990 when the Ministry of Waters, Forests and Environmental Protection issued the Order no. 7 on the establishment of a total of 13 national parks including the Rodna National Park

Great scientific reserve Pietrosu

Great scientific reserve Pietrosu  IUCN category Ia, was established as a protected area by Law 5/2000 concerning the approval of National Planning - Section III - a protected area under heading 2563.Biosphere Reserve is located near Rodna Pietrosu localities Borsa and Moisei having an area of 3300 ha and includes the northern part of the Rodna Mountains .The reserve occupies 3,300 hectares of alpine and coniferous or mixed forests Pietrosu Rodna Massif, noting the Great Pietrosu peak height 2303 meters.

Bad Stone scientific reserve

Bad Stone is a protected area of national interest corresponding to IUCN category Ia , with an area of 409 ha, protected especially abundant specimens edelweiss .It developed into a protected area by Law 5/2000 concerning the approval of National Planning - Section III - protected areas, with code 2589, was in the Rodna Mountains National Park and is part of the Ia scientific reserve. For operating reserve is the conservation of natural habitats, wildlife, biological diversity.

Blue Spring Cave and karst spring of Iza

Blue Spring Cave and karst spring of Iza is a protected area of national interest corresponding to IUCN category IV ( natural reserve of mixed type), located in the eastern part of the Rodna Mountains , on the southern slope of Mount Magura in Maramures County , the administrative territory of the commune Sacel
