Places to Visit

City Hall

One is located in the Plaza del Portal. Is installed on the old Municipal Hospital, erected in 1790. For long periods of time was contagious and shelter needy patients.

Old Church Square

Here was the Church of St. Peter Fortress built in the S. XIV. It was renovated in the S. XVI and that's how it remained until it was destroyed in the early 50's. It is now a secluded place whose use is intended to cover various cultural events, among others.

Church of the Immaculate Conception

From Gothic style. Also known as the Cathedral of the Navy because of the magnitude of its dimensions. Finished its construction in 1929.

La Lonja

It is the oldest monument in the town. Data from S. XVI. Today it houses exhibitions of high artistic and cultural value. Center now houses exhibitions of high historical and cultural value. It has a medieval character composed of three bodies with a masonry arch with three eyes in his ground floor, dating from the sixteenth century. Formerly on the top floor was the City Council and the bottom was devoted to commercial transactions.

House culture

Palace of the Torres-Orduna that now houses the library, exhibition halls, classrooms and assembly hall for the celebration of various events and ceremonies

Casa de Juan Vives

Casa de Juan Vives tells a story that the owners hosted two pilgrims, leaving the house and as a token of appreciation, the owners gave the miraculous image of the Immaculate Conception, patroness of the city today.

Riberero

The riberero is very symbolic figure and corresponds to the peasants who emigrated beniseros twice a year to the shores of Valencia for planting and harvesting rice. Appears in prayer position because they had the habit of praying at the stone from the save before you go.

Youth House

It was a commercial building. In the low weekly market was held. The town hall was at Casal until it moved to its current building. Today this building houses the information office of Youth and Exhibition Hall and classrooms.
