Church of St. Bartholomew

St. Bartholomew's Church is a church in Benicarlo, Castellon Province, Spain. Construction began on May 25, 1724, and was completed on October 9, 1743 in Baroque style. This is a new building that replaced the earlier church of which little information is preserved.San Bartolome is Patron of the City, together with the Saints Senen and Abdon.The temple has a carved stone facade that frames a monumental Baroque doorway flanked by two bodies exempt slender spiral columns, the upper body is formed by a niche with the image of St. Bartholomew.

Convento de San Francisco

The Convent of San Francisco, is a religious building in Baroque style built between the XVI and XVIII, which is located in the town of Benicarlo in Castellon Province, Spain. The former convent built in the sixteenth century there are very few remains. Due to the successive interventions, the building seen today is the eighteenth century.

Ermita de San Gregorio

The chapel of San Gregorio de Benicarlo is two miles and a half of the population.It is an ancient shrine of unknown origin and time of construction, the image of San Gregorio is a polychrome wood carving of crude but expressive features, probably the first third of the sixteenth century.

Christ Chapel of the Sea

The chapel of Cristo del Mar also called Christ Chapel of the Sea of Benicarlo, is located near the port.This Christ has always been deeply devoted to Benicarlo. Legend has it that in 1650 landed on the beaches of Benicarlo a felucca which Caesar landed Cataldo bearing an image of Christ on the Cross and his arrival was described as even more prodigious miracles wrought the Holy Image.

Fallas

Iberian village of Tossa

It is located at the top of the mountain of Tossa, west of the town of Benicarlo, on whose place the dividing line runs between it and the neighboring town, Cálig. The materials in this village found on the surface of the beds are occupied by the characteristic of the deposits of this type and chronology (VI-II century BC), with painted Iberian pottery theme based on a linear-geometric and a few motifs. At the foot of Tossa, in the vicinity of the Basset, was found the year 1941 the Necropolis of Bovalar whose urns, bronze utensils and furnishings are similar to materials of the necropolis of El Puig de la Nao.
