How to Reach

By train

Vasttrafik runs commuter trains to Alingsas from Gothenburg. The train takes about 40 minutes and runs up to twice an hour. The ticket costs around 75-80 SEK one way. SJ can take you to Alingsas from the rest of Sweden. The fastest train from Stockholm is the X 2000 which takes 2h 40 min (stops in Katrineholm and Skovde).

By bus

  Swebus Express makes a stop in Alingsas (Gotaplan) with the bus line Gothenburg-Mariestad-orebro-Stockholm up to four times a day.
  Public transport buses take you to Alingsas from (among others) Boras, Trollhattan and Herrljunga.

By car

The european route E20 passes through Alingsas on its way to Stockholm from Gothenburg.

Alingsas Museum

Alingsas museum was a museum located in the Alstromerska magazine at Little Square in Alingsas . The museum closes 30 January 2010.The building was constructed by Jonas Alstromer around 1730 and is Alingsas oldest secular building. Originally it was used as material for the magazine Alingsas manufacturing system clock, and was attended among others by Carl Linnaeus, 7 July 1746 , describing it thoroughly in his Vastgota Travel:
"Materials magazine was a large stone house, in which the bottom was a large, warm cellar, in which every kind of wet stuff and a great multitude of colors preserved. In this magazine were seen ofanteliga WOOLSACK, strange kattunsformer and all sorts fargmaterialier, which lay in store, while the hid a large capital, to be ready at the first hint. Nolhaga Castle

Nolhaga (North Haga) is mentioned since the 1500s.
