Hospice of St. Paul's Chapel
The hermitage of San Pablo inn is situated in the municipality of Albocasser ( Castellon province, Spain ), about 3 km from the village, at the junction of the roads Embesora Tower and Villafranca del Cid. This is a building of medieval and Baroque styles built between the XVI and XVII, which extended their stays in the eighteenth century. The construction of the chapel began in 1617. It has a single rectangular nave, three chapels and sections without cruise with interesting chorus top to toe. Impresses with its sense of mobility and impressionism, leading us to admire a work of art that reflects the lifestyle and concerns of the people who inhabited these lands for thousands of years.In the late sixteenth century, along with the original chapel, the inn began to rise in the eighteenth century extended by two arcaded wings on the sides.
Church of Our Lady of the Assumption
The parish church of Our Lady of the Assumption is the parish church of Albocasser. Located on the Square, where City Hall is also located.It is a temple of severe Baroque, which began in the late seventeenth century to replace the primitive temple gothic consisting of three cruise ships without side chapels with barrel vaults with lunettes. In its simple stone facade bears special mention of two bodies with pilasters and sculpture of the Assumption of Our Lady.The temple preserves a considerable number of pieces of jewelry, ornaments and remains of altars and the altarpiece of the Virgen de la Esperanza, a beautiful example of International Gothic, from the chapel of this devotion.
Albocacer Castle
Castle Albocacer was built in 1249. This is a castle Templar, located in central urban core.Style Gothic and irregular floor included two courtyards, three floors and two galleries, which acquires its characteristic features to the extension ordered by Artal Alagon in 1289, expansion including the construction of two towers at the main corners.Subsequently went to the order of Montesa in 1319 and 1558 further reforms were undertaken and remodeling.Today only ruins remain some interesting wall paintings and a tower.
