By air

The Cathedral

One of the best buildings to see in the city.

Sandal Castle

The castle grounds are open from dawn until dusk. The Visitor Centre's opening hours are: Summer - M-Su 11AM - 4.30PM, Winter - 11AM-4PM, Sa,Su only.

Pontefract Castle

Open from M-F 8.30AM-dusk, Sa,Su 10.30AM-dusk.

National Coal Mining Museum

As a national museum the National Coal Mining Museum for England is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport through the National Museum of Science & Industry. The Museum is also a registered charity.

The Yorkshire Sculpture Park
