Tuen Mun is a new town developed by Hong Kong Government in Tuen Mun of the New Territories, Hong Kong in 1970s.At the time of planning in 1965, the satellite town as new town was then known as, was named Castle Peak.The model of development is quite similar to Sha Tin New Town with a town centre (Tuen Mun Town Centre) built in the middle.However jobs and public facilities in the town are inadequate, just like Tin Shui Wai New Town, certain social problems like low income, juvenile problems, controversies in use of public places such as noise problems due to playing musical instruments in Tuen Mun Town Park.The end of the 19th century, Castle Peak Bay (now Sam Shing Hui) has been inhabited, the posterior horn of Tin Hau Temple (now the Old Market) and San Hui vicinity was the bazaar, San Hui population of only about 250 people.The commercial center in Tuen Mun tradition until after the new town development in the 1970s moved to the Tuen Mun Town Centre.In the 1960s, the Hong Kong government started to plan on the development of the first generation of satellite cities (later renamed New Town) called the Castle Peak new towns and after 1972, the Castle Peak area to restore using the old Tuen Mun changed its name to the Tuen Mun District ; 1973 officially announced the development of new towns known as the Tuen Mun New Town.

By Bus

Tuen Mun Town Plaza

Castle Peak
