Tienen Church

The St. Germanus is a neo-Romanesque church in the Belgian city of Tienen.The church dates from the 12th century.It lies along the Cattle Market and the Wolmarkt.Usually some still building the church beginning in the 9th century, this building on a forged deed of Charles the Bald in 872.The Romanesque church was actually built in the first half of the 12th century.The church was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt.Parts of the original church building were preserved until the 14th-15th century.From the 12th century was still the font.The nave does strand and is constructed with sandstone.She was built in the second half of the 15th century.The third part consists of a tall, strongly projecting transept.This portion was rebuilt after the fire disaster of 1536.

is a small church in the parish of St Peter to Vissenaken (Tienen, Flemish Brabant, Belgium).St. Peter's Church is a church built eenbeukige classical western.She was built in 1767.If building materials was primarily made use of brick and sandstone.Beside the church is the walled vicarage from 1636, built in Flemish Renaissance style.In the 18th century, changes were made to the entrance door and the interior.

The Sugar Museum is a museum in the Belgian city of Tienen, the "sugar town".The museum is the world of sugar covered.It is located on the Grote Markt in Tienen.It was built in 1846 by city architect François Drossaert erected.At the same place stood the Corps de Garde (popularly called Kottegoar), housing the militia.This building later became the Peace- housed, but also the police, the Office of the Civil Hospices and the Bureau of Patents.It was also used as a drawing school and Office for Public Works.In 2002 the building was opened as Sugar Museum.This idea came about when it was in 1988 the 150-year anniversary of the Tiense Sugar Refinery.First, a new museum built on the site of the city archives.Eventually one of these plans has been abandoned and the former Justice of the Peace chosen as the location.

The former city jail Toreke It is a museum in the town of Tienen (Vlaams-Brabant, Belgium).On 13 May 1847 proposed city architect François Drossaert a design dossier for the construction of a new prison behind the police station on the Grand Place.On 1 October 1848 the building was in service.Until 1862 they sat here actually police punishment.After the restoration in 1978 it became a museum.After 20 years the museum was renovated and expanded considerably.It was not only doubled the exhibition space, but also provide sufficient space for the exhibits in optimal conditions to preserve.

Paterskerk

The Church Father Tienen is the second oldest Begijnhofkerk of Belgium.The first Begijnhofkerk in Belgium in 1240 built to Liege.As the second oldest convent Tienen is often mentioned, where in 1245 the construction of the early Gothic Begijnhofkerk started.The flat facade contained no bell.The plan consisted of three aisles and a transept not projecting from the pseudo 13th century.The choir and side chapels date from the 14th century.From the ship, only the pointed arch vaults against the exterior has been preserved.These clearly show that all arcs in a simple square columns resting.The church had a gelambrizeerd wooden arbor.
