The port of Svishtov is the southernmost harbour on the Danube.It is served around the clock by the Svishtov-Zimnich ferry a regular operation Ro-ro ferryboat across the Danube between Svishtov and Zimnicea.The ferry shortens the road path to and from Turkey to Central and Western Europe by 140 km (86.99 mi) when compared to the traditional route over the Danube Bridge at Ruse-Giurgiu and allows a time gain of nearly 4 hours thus avoiding the traffic in and around the city of Bucharest.
By Bus
There are regular bus lines to Rousse, Pleven, Veliko Turnovo, Lovech, Byala, Levski and other smaller settlements within the region.There is a town bus transport functioning in Svishtov too.
By Train
Svishtov is the last station of the railway line Levski - Svishtov (Belene), through which it is connected to the national railway network.

Holy Trinity church
is the Orthodox Church in the town of Svishtov, northern Bulgaria.The building was consecrated on 19 September 1867 year.It was built by Kolyo Ficheto and is considered one of the specimens of church architecture from the Late Renaissance.Holy Trinity Church was built in the highest part of the town.It is a basilica with a central dome, three minor dome and extended body length of 30 m.The iconostasis is made of Debar master Anton Peshev in the 1870-1872 year and has dimensions of 16 x 10 m. 73 icons were painted by Nikolai Pavlovich.belfry of the church was added in 1886 and is made of Gencho Novakov.Interesting are the two portal columns that rotate around its axis.The church is strongly affected by Vranchanskoto earthquake in 1977.Started in the 80s reconstruction was delayed due to lack of funding and was completed only in 2004.
Aleko Konstantinov's house museum
The house-museum "Aleko Konstantinov" in Svishtov was established in 1926 Still living the great Bulgarian writer presents his native house of Svishtov municipality, to be used for cultural needs of the city. It is arranged most remarkable exhibition. Original material on the second floor about the life, socio-economic, historical and literary activity of "Lucky".Restored interior of the house from the second half of the nineteenth century. Among the most valuable exhibits is at the heart of the writer.
Svishtov Monastery Pokrov Bogorodichen
is located in a beautiful grove some 5 km away from the town of Svishtov.It was built during the Ottoman yoke and soon later was destroyed. In its current appearance the monastery is dated back to the end of XIX century.The monastery complex has a church (The Assumption of Virgin Mary), 2 residential buildings and an agricultural premise.The only reminder of the old cloister is the small stone-made altar lying in the monastery`s yard.
Roman town Nove
are located about 4 kilometres east of the todays town of Svishtov.The town was founded when in 48 here arrived VIII Roman Legion of Augustus and built its first camp.Later (in year 69-70) it was replaced by one of the three elite legions of Emperor Vespasiyan - I Italic (Legio I Italica) and a permanent camp was founded here for around four centuries.Together with Sexaginta Prista, Durostorum and Ratsiaria, the town of Nove formed the outer defensive ring of Roman empire on the Danube river.The military camp stopped its existence in the second quarter of V century after the Huns invasion on the Balkans.Later at same place a large late-antique town was built.
