National Museum of Bashkortostan Republic

Sterlitamak Drama Theatre

Bashkir puppet theatre

was created in 1932 as one of the first national puppet theatres in Russia.For seventy-five years the theatre went through the long way of development, accumulated the richest creative experience.All these years it was in an incessant creative search, mastered new possibilities of puppet genre, aspired to expansion of creative sphere and scales of age of its audience.Today the basic genres of puppet dramaturgy are presented in the playbill of the theatre: classic and modern fairy-tale, Bashkir epos.Actors work with different types and systems of puppets: gloved, stick, flatbed, with marionettes, and masks.Geography of festivals, where BGTK presented the puppet dramatic art of Bashkortostan broadened during last decades.Once or twice, the theatre left to Turkey with performances the "Brave cock" by N. Gaetbaev, "Bouquet for my mother" by I. Almukhametov, "Magic fairy-tales of Yansara" by S. Surin. The theatricals of puppet-show became the prizewinners of festivals in Moscow, Krasnodar, Samara, Chelyabinsk.Famous critics deservingly estimated creations of Bashkir puppeteers.
