How to Reach

By Train

Finding your way to Repulse Bay and Stanley is relatively easy despite the absence of the MTR.From Central, you can take one of a number of frequent buses (6, 6A or 6X) from the bus station at Exchange Square (next to Central MTR station).You will have a choice of buses, most end in either Stanley or Stanley Market.Try to take the cheaper, slower, bus that goes over the top of the mountains.Alternatively, take the express bus through the Aberdeen Tunnel and pay a little more for a quicker journey.

By Road

Stanley is served by Repulse Bay Road and Tai Tam Road.It is extremely easy to reach with several buses that go back and forth from all over Hong Kong.In addition to the many buses Stanley is also served by a taxi stand which is often full of taxis awaiting customers.

By Bus

To/From Stanley Market: 65 (Terminus: North Point Ferry Pier) [Operates on Monday-Saturday, via Wong Nai Chung Gap], To/From Stanley Prison: 63 (Terminus: North Point Ferry Pier) [Operates on Sundays & Holidays via Causeway Bay], To/From Stanley Fort: 14 (Terminus: Grand Promenade, Sai Wan Ho), and To/From Stanley Plaza: 66 (Terminus: Exchange Square).

Stanley Market

Stanley Market is situated in Stanley New Street near the Stanley food market.A famous tourist spots, which is located in Hong Kong Island, northwest of Stanley Peninsula, South Point Stanley Bay, east of Stanley Plaza south eight house.Stanley Market and the shops are generally open daily from 10:00 to 19:00.Streets within the Stanley Market in Stanley Street, Stanley Market Road, Stanley Street, Stanley Village Road.

Pat Kan Uk

Pat Kan Uk is a row of eight houses.Many people think they are abandoned pre-war buildings but each of them is still a home to local elders.There were eight houses belonging to farming families in Wong Ma Kok before the Sino-Japanese War.The government recovered the land to develop barracks and a terrace of eight houses was built here as relocation homes for the local residents.

Murray House

Murray House is a Victorian-era building originally built in the present-day business district of Central in 1846 as officers' quarters of the Murray Barracks, the building was relocated to Stanley during the 2000s.In 1982, the historical landmark was dismantled to yield to the new Bank of China Tower.Over 3,000 building blocks were labelled and catalogued for future restoration.In 1990, the Housing Department proposed the resurrection of the building in Stanley.The building was restored in 2001 and reopened in 2002.

Hong Kong Maritime Museum

is a non-profit educational institution funded by Hong Kong's international shipping community and is located on the ground floor of Murray House in Stanley, Hong Kong.The museum illustrates how China, Asia and the West have contributed through the ages to the development of boats, ships, maritime exploration and trade and naval warfare.While concentrating on the South China coast and its adjacent seas it also covers global trends and provides a comprehensive account of Hong Kong's growth and development as a major world port and maritime centre.The museum includes semi-permanent and special exhibitions, dynamic displays, educational events and a museum shop.

Stanley Plaza

Adjacent to Murray House, opened in 2001, it includes a shopping arcade and an outdoor community amphitheatre.The complex is owned by The Link REIT.Numerous free concerts are held in the amphitheatre throughout the year.In November of 2011 Stanley Plaza reopened after a major renovation which was part of the transfer from government ownership to Link REIT ownership.

St. Stephen's Beach

is a secluded beach in the Southern District of Hong Kong, five minutes from Stanley main beach.It is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and is rated as Grade 1 by the Environmental Protection Department for its water quality.

Stanley Beach

The larger of the two beaches Stanley Main Beach which is also popular with windsurfers and other watersport enthusiasts, hosts the Stanley Dragon Boat Championships each year in June to celebrate the Tuen Ng Festival.

Duanwu Festival

is a traditional and statutory holiday originating in China and associated with a number of East Asian and Southeast Asian societies.In 2008, it was recognised as a public holiday in mainland China for the first time since the 1940s.The festival has also long been celebrated in Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia.Equivalent and related festivals in Asia include the Kodomo no hi in Japan, Dano in Korea, and Tet Doan Ngo in Vietnam.The festival occurs on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar on which the Chinese calendar is based.This is the source of the alternative name of Double Fifth.In 2011 this fell on June 6.
