Castle of Serpa

The Castle of Serpa, in Alentejo, located in the village of Salvador, a town and municipality of Serpa in the district of Beja, in Portugal. In a dominant position on the village, part of the territory on the left bank of the Guadiana river, together with the neighboring Castle Moura, Mertola Castle and Castle Noudar. The early human occupation dating back to your site prehistory, later Romanized, when it was called Serpa, living with a road linking Beja in the south of Hispania. It is believed that here existed a Roman fort whose function is to protect this stretch of the circuit audios.

Church of Santa Maria

Palace of the Counts of Ficalho

The Palace of the Counts of Ficalho, also referred to as Casa do Castelo in the Alentejo, located in the parish of Santa Maria, county of Serpa, Beja district, in Portugal. This palace was built in the seventeenth century on the initiative of Don Francisco de Melo. It is classified as a National Monument as published in the Official Gazette of April 20th of 2007.

Clock Museum

The Clock Museum is located in Serpa, Portugal.It is the only one in the Iberian Peninsula and one of five that, worldwide, dedicated to this subject, having an estate with over 1950 mechanical watches since 1630 until 2009.Installed in the building of the Convent of the Mosteirinho sixteenth century, in the historic center of town, the museum center is a private institution, established 35 years ago. Antonio Tavares d'Almeida, is the main promoter of the museum that originated after the inheritance of the grandparents of three pocket watches damaged.
