Praia da Rocha

The Rocha beach is a beach in the municipality of Portimao, in Algarve ( Portugal ). This beach has a large expanse of sand, a total area of about 146,000 square meters, along 1.5 kilometers of coastline. Along the beach stands the Fortress of Santa Catarina, built in the seventeenth century to ensure the defense bar of the river Arade. The beach owes its name to the rocks that lie between the sand and the sea. It is one of Algarve's most famous, if not the entire country. Every year during the summer, the beach filled with tourists from around the world and, despite its great extent, it is rare not to be crowded. In recent years, has received Mundialito Beach Soccer, played in a stadium built for that purpose and has capacity for 3000 people.

Museum of Portimao

The Museum of Portimao is located in the parish of Portimao, in the county namesake in Portugal. Is installed in the old cannery Feu, and opened to the public May 17, 2008.The Museum's collection consists of ethnographic and industrial heritage, especially of the canning industry, shipbuilding, fishing, stowage, lithography, casting, tin, smokehouses, transport, among others. As for the archaeological remains of the city, this aggregate materials from a variety of terrestrial and underwater archaeological sites.

Fort of Santa Catarina

The Fort of Santa Catarina, or Fortress of Santa Catarina de Ribamar, in the Algarve, located in the Municipality of Portimao, the District of Faro in Portugal. In a dominant position on a hill in the far east of Praia da Rocha, near the Arade River, this fort defended the town and bar Arade, cooperating with the Forte de Sao Joao do Arade, on the opposite bank of the river in Ferragudo.

Autodromo Internacional do Algarve

The Algarve International Circuit is a racing circuit 4.692 km (2.916 mi) located in the municipality of Portimao in the Algarve in Portugal. It lies about 16 km from the center of Portimao, in the parish of Mexilhoeira Grande. With a total cost of 195 million Euros (approximately $ 250 million), the project includes a karting track, a technology park, a five star hotel, sports complex and apartments.

Garfias Sarrea Palace

Palace of neoclassic style, with reminiscences Baroque, built in the late eighteenth century. On December 11, 2008 was opened in space formerly occupied by the palace, TEMPO (Portimao Municipal Theatre), a modern building with respect to a large extent the facade of the old building.

Praia do Vau

After the coast of the Three Castles closer comes the Vau. It is a smaller beach but very warm and family-oriented, surrounded by clay cliffs that are attributed medicinal qualities.

German Beach

This beach is located next to John Arens. It is a secluded beach, and is one of those chosen by Mario Soares for leisure, one of the reasons for his choice, the fact of owning a villa in the same place.
