Melk Abbey

The Benedictine Abbey of Melk is located in Lower Austria near the town of Melk on the right bank of the Danube. As a symbol of the Wachau, it belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Described it as "sinnbildlichstes dominant and famous baroque buildings".It also houses the Stiftsgymnasium Melk, the oldest existing school in Austria. Abbot of the monastery is Georg Wilfinger.

The parish church of the Assumption is a Roman Catholic church in the city of Melk in Lower Austria .The location of the original church of St. Peter, is unknown.
