Road

Leganes can be accessed by the following roads: M-40 (outputs 27, 28 and 30), A-42 (Outputs 9, 9A and 9B), M-45, M-50, M-406, F-407 and M -409.

Train

Leganes station is one of the stops on the railway line from Middle Distance Renfe R10.
Leganes has three stops Renfe , all belonging to the line C-5 . They Polvoranca Park Station, Leganes Station and Zarzaquemada Station. Leganes Station has correspondence with line 12 of Metro de Madrid .

Metro

The city is within the line 12 (Metrosur) and has six stations: San Nicasio , Leganes Central , Hospital Severo Ochoa , Clock House , Julian Besteiro and El Carrascal . Solagua area has space for the construction of a station (Leganes West) in case of opening new stations on the line. On October 5, 2010 was inaugurated the station of La Fortuna , which connects the district with the line 11.

Church of San Salvador  

The existence of the temple dates back to the fifteenth century, although the present structure was begun in 1662 . It has a Baroque altarpiece, which was made by the artist Jose de Churriguera between 1701 and 1720 . It also highlights his parish organ, designed by Jose de Verdalonga.

Polvoranca Park

The Polvoranca Park is located in the municipality of Fuenlabrada , Leganes and Alcorcon in the southern part of the Community of Madrid . With an area of 150 hectares , articulated around the stream of RECOMB and Pascuala Mari gaps and little bustards, inside also has various themed gardens , an arboretum , a botanical garden , an activity center and various sports facilities. The park is one of ten centers are there in the Network of Environmental Education of the Community of Madrid and is now integrated into South River .

Ermita de San Nicasio

Casa de Salud de Santa Isabel

Casa de Salud de Santa Isabel, was the first psychiatric hospital of its kind in Spain, and the first company in the municipality. Headquarters of the Royal Walloon Guards

Also known as Sabatini building or barracks of Savoy, was designed by architect Francisco Sabatini . His works were completed in 1783 , and had a use military until 1987 , when the Savoy Regiment left the building. It is currently integrated into the University Carlos III of Madrid and has been completely restored inside and out.

Plaza Mayor de Leganes and clock automata

Plaza Mayor de Leganes was opened in 2008 , in the land occupied by the old football field Leganes CD . There are the town hall, a sports facility and various establishments. In the Town Hall is a Swiss automatic watch, which is the first of its kind in Spain .

Museum of Outdoor Sculpture Leganes

Museum of Outdoor Sculpture Leganes is Located in the park of The Dehesilla. Its promoter was the sculptor Luis Arencibia , and is the result of an agreement with the Reina Sofia Museum . The institution gave the City 50 large sculptures that were previously exposed in the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Art. Access to the park is completely free and is open until midnight. Includes works by Martin Chirino , Agustin Ibarrola and Jorge Oteiza among other artists.

Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia

The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (MNCARS) is the National Museum Spanish of art of the twentieth century and contemporary, based in Madrid . His name often abbreviated as Reina Sofia Museum.Made his headquarters the old General Hospital in Madrid, large building neoclassical the eighteenth century located in the area of Atocha , near the homonymous stations train and meters .
