Railway Las Tunas - Manatee and Central Railway  are the train routes from Havana to Santiago de Cuba.The long-distance bus terminal is 1 km from the town centre and closer than the railway station 2.5 km away but both are within walking distance if you haven't got much luggage.

By Road

Central Road connects to the neighboring provinces of Camaguey and Holguin, Carretera Las Tunas - Bayamo, Carretera Las Tunas - Puerto Padre, Carretera Las Tunas - Jobabo and Carretera Las Tunas - Manatee.

By Bus

The main bus station is in the southeastern diecton from the city's center.More comfortable Viazul buses are more expensive and offer transport to Ciego de Avila, Sancti Spiritus, Trinidad, Havana, and Santiago de Cuba.The bus that runs to Santiago de Cuba runs through and stops in Holguín and Bayamo.

Cucalambeana Day

The Cucalambeana Day is a great cultural event not only in Las Tunas, but also for Cuba.It is considered the ultimate party of the Cuban peasantry.He has been living expression of artistic and cultural life in rural areas.Highly significant for the quality and the convening power reached, has managed to coordinate harmoniously the spiritual expression rooted in the Cuban peasantry and the various elements of material culture.The fundamental motivation is commemorative is made around each anniversary of the birth of Juan Cristobal Napoles Fajardo "The Cucalambe" on 1 July, in order to pay homage and revitalize the knowledge of the work of who was in the nineteenth century decimated by excellence.

Las Tunas Carnival

Begins September 18 and lasts five days.Carnival has a section for children, consisting of parades, congas and floats, as children's musicians and dancers.For older students, music is played in every corner, roast pork is sold at roadside stalls, orchestras play in the streets every night and every two blocks installs a pipe (truck tank) of beer dispensed.

Provincial Museum of Las Tunas

The Memorial a los Martires de Barbados houses a museum where photographs of the victims line the walls and in that way remind us constantly that indiscriminate terrorism is unacceptable and brings nothing but pain and disaster.Any day except Sunday the door of the museum is open for visits.The memorial is located along the Hormigo River, in Lucas Ortiz street.Las Tunas remembers its hero Vicente García to this day.The Memorial Vicente Garcia and Museo Provincial General Vicente García were erected in the center of his native city to represent bravery and commitment necessary to defend the ideal of the indipendence and social equality.The museum is housed in the building with the clock above the facade, what used to be a town hall in the 1920s.The Memorial is nearby and honors Vicente García and his attempts to free all people of Las Tunas and eastern Cuba as a whole, from the foreign colonizers.It commemorates October of 1868, when Vicente led the rebells of Las Tunas into the First War of Independence.

Playa La Herradura

Playa La Herradura is accesible around the eastern shore of Chaparra Bay.You can find a room for an overnight or longer stay next to or right on the beach.Houses that are marked with a green triangle rent rooms legally.Some of the good choices are Villa Papachongo, located on the beach in Holguin, Villa Rocio, and Villa Pedro Hidalgo.Do not hesitate to ask the locals about their recommendations.The next beach is Playa Las Bocas.Use the same method to find accommodation.At the town's entrance there is an open-air snack bar.Eleven kilometers westward is Playa Llanita.Here you should be aware that the beach lies on a curved part that is not protected, which means that you need to be careful when exploring the terrain.

Museum Provincial of Vicente Garcia

Stadium Julio Antonio Mella

The baseball season is from October to April and Las Tunas team can be seen playing at the Estadio Julio Antonio Mella, near the train station.Other sports are played at the indoor arena Sala Polivalente, near Hotel Las Tunas.Boxing is one of the sports that has formed a Cuban boxing champion, who comes from Las Tunas Province.
