Church of St. Bartholomew

St. Bartholomew's Church, located in the Plaza of the Church of Javea is a religious building whose origins on the fortified tower dating from the fourteenth century apse, with the Gothic-style building, built in the XVI, in plays directed by Urteaga Sunday .In medieval times the church was the main element of defense and fully met its two objectives, to defend the population and religious needs of the people.The temple is built entirely of local sandstone, known as rough stone , and drawn largely, according to tradition, the Cova Tallada , located at sea level under the cape of San Antonio .
