By Train

Hillerod Station is the terminus for the S-Bahn North Course.The station is located in Hillerod, a town north of Copenhagen.The station serves as the terminus of four railways: S-Bahn North Course from Copenhagen.Frederick Railway which is part of the local train system.Gribskov course also part of the local train system and Lille which (as a part of the local train system) runs against Elsinore.Although there are traces connection between the four railroads they are rarely used.Each level has its own dedicated return tracks.

By Bus

Almost all cities north of Hillerod are served by buses from the train station below are some of the more useful lines for tourists.Roskilde Line 600S runs between Hillerod and Hundige via Roskilde for access to the world heritage site Roskilde Cathedral and the Viking Ship museum.Frederikssund Lines 325 and 307 leaves about every hour on weekdays to Frederikssund by Roskilde Fjord.Rungsted Lines 382E Runs on the highway between Hillerod and Rungsted station near oresund on the kystbanen line, the Louisiana art museum is two stops on Kystbanen from Rungsted.

Frederiksborg castle

Frederiksborg castle is a castle in Hillerod, Denmark.It was built as a royal residence for King Christian IV and is now known as The Museum of National History.The current building replaced a previous castle erected by Frederick II and is the largest Renaissance palace in Scandinavia.The palace is located on three small islands in the middle of Palace Lake and is adjoined by a large baroque formal garden.

The Palace Church

The church also known as the Chapel of Orders serves as a local church today and is a part of the museum on the premises.The coats-of-arms of recipients of the country's royal orders the Order of the Elephant and the Order of the Dannebrog are displayed on the walls of the church.

Hillerod Museum

is museum on three floors and is located at Hunters Hill in Frederiksborg Castle Gardens.Hillerod Museum displays Hillerod history of the city occurs in the middle of 1500-year as serviceby to Frederiksborg Castle to our time.Hillerod's history is unique because it is one of very few castle towns in the world that has even survived the city's castle has lost its meaning.Part of the exhibition is called Future Street, where you can go through the 20th century and experiencing real life situations from the first World War until today in the many shops, garages and living rooms where different moments tells about life in Hillerod not so many years ago.From May 2008 you can also see the documentary about Maskinfabrikken Nordsten in the exhibition.Northern Rock was Hillerod's biggest employer until it moved in 1988.

Aebelholt Abbey Market

Almost from the time the abbey was established here a market has been held alongside initially beginning on 16 June, the feast day of the abbey's founder, Saint William.Formerly the market lasted for 14 days.The market is now under the auspices of the Folk Museum in Hillerod who have arranged it every year from 1998 it now lasts for a weekend.

Aebelholt Monastery

was a monastery of Augustine located in Tjaereby Parish 5 km. west of Hillingdon.The monastery was at its present location created in 1176 when Abbot William supported by large donations from Absalom moved from the monastery Eskilso in Roskilde Fjord.Initially built a wooden church Mon who in 1210 was replaced by a stone church.The garden is laid out in 1957 as a reconstruction of the monastery garden of St. Gallen in Switzerland.The garden contains nearly 100 different medicinal plants that grew in the Danish monastery gardens in the Middle Ages.The theoretical background for the use of herbal medicine was developed already in antiquity and continued during the Middle Ages under the name humoralpatologi.

Green Vang Church

Green Vang Church was originally a walking church located in the eastern part of the Hillerod in Green Vang Parish which was established as an independent parish and parish first in January 1995.The newly built Green Vang Church was consecrated 28th September 2008.The new church was designed by architects Friis and Moltke.

Pastor Vang Church

Pastor Vang Church in Hillerod was inaugurated on 16 September 1962 by Bishop JB Leer-Andersen.Before that was passed several years of preparation since the first thoughts of a church in the east of the town was made already in the war years.On 11 September 1961 the foundation stone was laid.In the cornerstone document it was determined that the church should be built: to honor God the congregation for the benefit others to a good example.
