By train

The city of Helmond is situated on the railway line Eindhoven - Venlo. The city has four railway stations on this realm: drive Helmond , Helmond station 't Hout , Helmond station Brouwhuis and since December 10, 2006 Station Helmond Brandevoort .

By car

Helmond is connected to the motorway network via various routes. The city is accessible by car via the A270/N270 and N279 . It is also possible for the city to the south from the A67 to reach.
The old route to Eindhoven originally ran through Mierlo and Geldrop on the N614 . This route has its main function now lost to the A270 , but still provides the connection to Mierlo and Helmond Geldrop.

By bus

The bus has 7 bus platform, where the city buses and regional buses stop. The rides are provided by Hermes with the exception of line 25, which is operated by Arriva. All city buses run only on Monday/Saturday until 19.00. The station is in zone 6531. For children under 12 years and people aged 65 in Helmond was the bus for free on presentation of an identity. This has finally expired. On Saturday, everyone was free public bus transport, this trial was discontinued at 1 August 2010.

Castle Helmond

Helmond castle is a square medieval water castle in the center of the city Helmond .The construction of the present castle was started around 1325. This was to replace an older castle, located several hundred meters west of the present castle was away, and that in 1981 , during excavations, foundations of a stone keep, and objects to light have come.In the twelfth century, the area around Helmond part of the possessions of the Hornes. Cube Housing

A cube house is a house in the shape of a tilted cube on a pole, also called stilt house or tree house. In the seventies cube houses built by the Dutch architect Piet Blom in Helmond and Rotterdam . Saint-Lambert

The Saint Lambert in Helmond is a church in neo-Gothic style, built between 1856-1861 to replace the medieval church in the same place.The church, a three-aisled basilica was designed by architect Theo Molkenboer . The medieval tower of the predecessor was retained but was given a new outer layer of neo-Gothic details and a new octagonal top. The church houses the famous Robustelly organ. The organist since 1957 Kees van Houten .The immediate surroundings of the Lambert was recently extensively refurbished and now has an intimate courtyard, the Lambertushof.

Our Lady

The Our Lady, Our Lady's Assumption in full, in Helmond , a Catholic domed church in neobyzantijnse style. Architect of the church was Jos Margry from Rotterdam , who may plan worked out that his father Albert Margry , who died in 1911, had begun. The church is at the Wilhelmina Avenue.The construction of the church began in 1915 . The client was Peter de Wit , a wealthy textile baron from Helmond. On 29 November 1912 , an amount of NLG 36.200,-an area between Wilhelmina Avenue and Crooked Steenweg bought-property Jhr. Wesselman Helmond - For the construction of a church rectory. The church was built in 1928 completed. In the church there are paintings by the Limburg painter and glazier Charles Eyck , who between 1940 and 1949 were made.

The Municipal Museum

The Municipal Museum of Helmond is located partly in the Castle Helmond , and partly in the Boscotondohal .This museum contains artifacts from the history of Helmond and also an art collection with the theme: People and Work. This includes works from 1850 to present. This issue reflects the history of Helmond and industrial city. Among the artists represented include: Herman Brock Heij , Johannes Bosboom , Isaac Israels and Jan Toorop .In Boscotondohal is a collection of international contemporary art since 1970 . In 1978 they started with the construction of the collection in 2008 included 450 works already.

January Fishing Museum

This museum is located at the Empress Maria Avenue and contains objects related to the Helmond history and rural life in the past, such as tools. In 1998 started the construction of the collection, which is also enhanced with a collection of the Helmond fire .

Edah Museum
