Holy Spirit Church

The Holy Spirit Church, the Roman Catholic parish church of the Holy Spirit in Heerenveen .The present Roman Catholic church, the fourth, was built in the center about 50 meters west of State Crack . It was designed by architect HCM van Beers and in traditionalist style . The three-aisled church came in 1933 completed. The building has a small spire and a tower containing three bells there, with a high spire. The pulpit is from the studio of the sculptor Friedrich Wilhelm Mengelberg . The church is a monument . The history of the Roman Catholic parish in Heerenveen started in 1636 . The growth of the church meant that we had to build bigger churches. In 1842 , the third building next Oenema state , put into use. This church was used until 1933, but was later scrapped.

William Harley Museum

William Harley Museum is a cultural history museum in Heerenveen .The museum is named after William Harley (1655-1728) . From 1942 makes a building on the meat market as a ancient room, where a collection is housed on the history of Heerenveen. In 1982 the collection moved to a building at the Van Harenspad and since then the name of William Harley Museum. In 1999 the former school building adjacent to the museum added to allow more space for exhibitions coming. The building is called The School Heerenveen. It also Atteliers Major, a center for arts and branches of VVV and ANWB established.

Mennonite Church

The Baptist Church is the Remembrance of the Remembrance Lane to Heerenveen .There were several Baptist churches in Heerenveen. After the merger was on 7 June 1762 the first stone was laid for a new church building. Above the entrance in 1838 on a plaque set this event again.The church hall is a monument . Both the interior and exterior underwent changes later. The Church Organ Builders of Baker & Timmenga replaced the Van Dam-organ from 1840 . There is no pulpit longer present.

War Memorial Heerenveen

War Memorial Heerenveen is a monument to the Van Maasdijk Street in Heerenveen .The monument was erected to commemorate the fallen in World War II and was on 4 May 1949 revealed.

Museum Belvedere

The Belvedere Museum is a museum for modern and contemporary art in Heerenveen , province of Friesland .The museum has a separate history. It arises from the desire of three men: Thom Mercuur , Sjoerd de Vries and Boele Bregman . Especially Thom Mercuur long dreamed of creating a private museum, a large "diorama" for art. After many setbacks, he managed and accomplished his museum. On February 9, 2010 he was appointed honorary citizen by the town of Heerenveen because of his great commitment to this museum.

Oenema State

Oenema State is a stins in Heerenveen built in 1640 by order of grietman Amelius of Oenema (1627-1647).It was later occupied by the family of Grove Sirtema Stins from Engelum, where the 'Grouw Stens' standing. Then came the state through marriage into the possession of Van Haren. Willem van Haren , which the museum is named, grew up here. The building was sold for 8000 guilders in 1828 and was brill Nijhuis and later town of Schoterland . In 1876, a major renovation site operated by carpenter William the Earl was executed for 22,000 guilders.In 1934 , the building of the new city hall Heerenveen .

State Crack

Europalaan Church is a church in Heerenveen .The church was built in 1967 designed by Jo Vegter . The building is a church hall with a pent roof , where the south side of the top side. Against the east wall is a concrete structure in which a clock.The church belongs to the Protestant parish Heerenveen. This includes the Cross and the Church Fok . The parish plans to sell these two churches and a new church hall next to the church building Europalaan Europalaan Church and the current can be converted into reception area.
